Volkswagen has released another teaser of the electric concept car that it will reveal next week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Described as a close preview to a planned production version of the microbus to be produced at Volkswagen’s Puebla factory in Mexico from 2017, the concept is set to showcase a newly developed electric drive system among other contemporary connectivity technologies.
Volkswagen says that the new electric concept’s world premiere marks the “beginning of new era of affordable long-distance electromobility.”
Though the video itself doesn’t show too much more of the concept car, Volkswagen hints that the vehicle will show off new technologies that use “The Internet of Things” to make cars “more and more intelligent.”
Cars of the future are expected to make big news at the upcoming International Consumer Electronics Show next week, Ford is expected to announce its partnership with Google to build self-driving cars while Chevrolet is going to show off a production version of its Bolt electric car.
