An updated version of the Renault Kangoo ZE electric van will cost €13,000 ($17,000 USD), after a € 7,000 green rebate is applied in France.
The Kangoo ZE electric van reasserts its electric vehicle credentials with a new specific front bumper, while the dashboard has been revised and perceived quality has been enhanced.
The battery charging socket of New Kangoo ZE has been moved to behind the front logo. The owner simply plugs in the cable provided with the vehicle to fully charge the battery in between six and nine hours using a Wall Box at their home or at a public battery charging station.
The New Kangoo ZE and Kangoo Maxi ZE ranges now include the R-Link multimedia system, plus the ‘ZE Voice’ function which emits a sound to warn pedestrians of the vehicle’s approach. Thanks to the ‘My ZE inter@ctive’ Pack, owners can plan the charging of New Kangoo ZE’s battery from a distance using a computer or smartphone in order to benefit from off-peak electricity rates.
In October 2011, Kangoo Van ZE won a tender to supply more than 15,000 vehicles over a period of four years to 19 major businesses and administrative bodies in France.
Kangoo Van ZE is also Europe’s best-selling electric van, with registrations totalling almost 7,000 vehicles, including approximately 4,000 in France. Of these, 1,800 were ordered by La Poste.
New Kangoo ZE and Maxi ZE are made exclusively at Renault’s MCA de Maubeuge plant in France.
