Electric vehicle manufacturer AMP Electric Vehicles has delivered its first heavy-duty electric step van to Navistar, as part of a previously announced development agreement between the two companies.
AMP said the 1,000 cubic foot step electric van was designed to have a 100-mile range and has passed initial testing.
The electric vehicles built under this agreement are designed for 100 miles of range on a single charge and have a maximum gross vehicle weight of 19,500 lbs. The electrification architecture is based on the well proven AMP platform, and has been engineered to be suitable for both re-powering of existing diesel vehicles in a fleet as well as new vehicles that may be ordered by fleets in the future.
In a related news, AMP Holding Inc., the parent company of AMP Electric Vehicles Inc., has secured a commitment of $7.5 million from Kodiak Capital Group LLC in order to expand the company’s expected EV production and presence in the commercial fleet market.
