Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has significantly expanded its public charging offering for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle owners by partnering with Digital Charging Solutions (DCS), giving customers access to more than 1.1 million charging points across Europe.
The new JLR Charging service replaces the company’s previous charging solution provided by Plugsurfing and marks another important step in JLR’s broader electrification strategy as it prepares to introduce the first fully electric Range Rover.
The upgraded charging platform is available to drivers of Jaguar, Range Rover, Defender and Discovery models equipped with either battery-electric or plug-in hybrid powertrains. Customers can access the service through the InControl Remote smartphone app, future JLR mobile applications, or a branded charging card that enables seamless authentication and payment across compatible charging networks.
Access to More Than One Million Chargers Across 29 European Countries
Powered by Digital Charging Solutions, the new platform connects customers to hundreds of charging operators across 29 European countries. Drivers can locate nearby chargers, check charger availability, filter stations by charging speed, and navigate directly to their chosen destination using the vehicle’s built-in navigation system.
The charging network currently includes approximately 1,174,593 public charging points, including around 75,000 chargers in the United Kingdom, making it one of Europe’s largest integrated charging ecosystems.
Coverage extends from major metropolitan areas to remote travel destinations. More than 16,000 charging points are available around Stuttgart, while popular holiday destinations such as Rhodes, Greece, offer hundreds of public chargers. Drivers can also find charging infrastructure in rural regions, including Austria’s East Tyrol and northern Norway around Tromsø.
Simplified Charging and Flexible Payment Options
JLR Charging is designed to simplify the public charging experience by allowing customers to manage charging sessions and payments through a single account.
Owners of new or approved used Jaguar and Land Rover plug-in hybrid or electric vehicles receive a complimentary branded charging card that provides access to the entire network. Existing customers can order the card through their retailer or directly within the mobile app.
The standard service is available free of charge, while customers seeking lower charging costs can subscribe to a premium plan priced at £8.99 per month, which offers up to a 20% discount on charging rates at participating stations.
Supporting JLR’s Electric Future
The partnership arrives as JLR accelerates its transition toward electrification.
The first all-electric Range Rover Electric is expected to debut soon, followed by the Range Rover Sport Electric, both built on JLR’s Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA). Future electric models across the Range Rover, Defender and Discovery families will join a portfolio that also includes hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, while conventional internal combustion-only models will gradually be phased out.
Jaguar is also progressing toward becoming an all-electric luxury brand. Following the end of I-Pace production in late 2024, the company is developing an entirely new electric lineup, led by the upcoming Type 01 four-door GT, with additional models expected in the coming years.
Future JLR electric vehicles will continue to benefit from the extensive charging infrastructure provided through the DCS platform, ensuring customers have convenient access to charging across Europe from the day they take delivery.
A Major Upgrade for JLR EV Owners
With access to more than 1.1 million charging points across Europe, integrated route planning, simplified payments, and subscription-based charging discounts, JLR Charging represents a major enhancement for Jaguar and Land Rover electrified vehicle owners.
The expanded charging ecosystem not only improves convenience for current customers but also lays the foundation for JLR’s rapidly growing portfolio of next-generation electric vehicles, beginning with the highly anticipated Range Rover Electric and future all-electric Jaguar models.
