MG has taken another significant step in its electric future by unveiling two all-new concept vehicles at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The MG GO! and MG Cyber Concept provide a clear preview of the brand’s next generation of electric vehicles, combining classic British design influences with advanced EV technology.
The two concepts highlight MG’s long-term strategy of blending its sporting heritage with modern electrification while making electric mobility more desirable and accessible. Alongside the concept cars, MG also showcased its latest production models and demonstrated its growing expertise in artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and connected vehicle technology.

MG GO! Previews a New Electric Hatchback for 2027
The MG GO! serves as an early look at a new B-segment electric hatchback scheduled to enter production in 2027. Designed entirely at the MG Design Centre in London under the direction of Carl Gotham, the concept reinterprets the company’s classic styling without becoming a nostalgic recreation.
Instead, the design combines clean, modern surfaces with subtle references to iconic MG models such as the MGB GT. The result is a compact EV intended to deliver personality and emotional appeal in a segment often dominated by purely functional designs.
MG says the GO! is aimed at bringing greater desirability to affordable electric cars while maintaining the practicality expected from a compact hatchback.
The concept also reflects inspiration from several well-known MG performance models, including the MG Metro Turbo, MG ZR and MG EX4, creating a contemporary interpretation of the brand’s sporting DNA.
According to Design Director Carl Gotham, the goal was to create a vehicle that feels warm, expressive and instantly recognizable, while appealing to a new generation of EV buyers.

MG Cyber Concept Imagines a Performance Electric SUV
While the GO! focuses on the affordable end of the EV market, the MG Cyber Concept explores the future of high-performance electric SUVs.
Positioned as a flagship design study, the Cyber Concept previews a future D-segment electric SUV that combines sports car-inspired dynamics with everyday practicality.
Its design draws inspiration from one of MG’s most legendary vehicles—the EX181 land speed record car—while introducing a modern interpretation of performance for the electric era.
The concept features muscular proportions, sculpted bodywork and an athletic stance intended to communicate speed even when stationary. MG envisions the Cyber Concept as an SUV capable of delivering engaging driving characteristics without sacrificing comfort, versatility or long-distance usability.
Vice President of Global Design Jozef Kabaň emphasized that future automotive design must create an emotional connection with customers rather than relying solely on technology. He noted that strong design identity will remain one of the industry’s most important differentiators as electrification continues to evolve.
Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Technology Take Center Stage
Beyond its new concept vehicles, MG used the Goodwood Festival of Speed to demonstrate its latest technology initiatives through its “Future Motion Show.”
The exhibition showcased the company’s work in:
– Artificial intelligence
– Intelligent autonomous driving
– LiDAR-based sensing systems
– Advanced camera technology
– Vehicle connectivity
Interactive robot demonstrations illustrated how these technologies could shape the future driving experience as connected and autonomous mobility continues to develop.
MG Displays Expanding Electrified Lineup
In addition to its concept vehicles, MG presented six electrified production models that highlight the rapid expansion of its global lineup.
Among the newest additions were the MGS9 PHEV, the brand’s first seven-seat plug-in hybrid SUV, and the MG4 EV Urban, a front-wheel-drive electric hatchback focused on affordability, interior space and technology.
The display also included several established models:
– MG HS Plug-in Hybrid
– MG ZS Hybrid+
– MG IM5
– MG Cyberster
Together, these vehicles demonstrate MG’s strategy of offering electric and hybrid models across multiple segments, from compact hatchbacks to premium SUVs and sports cars.
MG Signals Its Next Chapter
The debut of the MG GO! and Cyber Concept offers a glimpse into where the brand is heading over the next several years.
The MG GO! suggests affordable electric hatchbacks can still deliver character and emotional appeal, while the Cyber Concept illustrates MG’s ambitions in the growing performance SUV segment.
Combined with continued investment in intelligent driving systems, connectivity and electrified powertrains, the concepts underline MG’s intention to remain one of the industry’s fastest-growing EV manufacturers while honoring more than a century of British automotive heritage.
With production versions expected to follow in the coming years, the concepts unveiled at Goodwood provide one of the clearest indications yet of MG’s future electric design direction.
