An electric ride for film festival stars with ABB and Audi

This year, film festival stars arriving in Berlin will not only travel in style but also sustainably, in a fleet of 70 Audi e-trons powered by ABB’s Terra DC fast chargers.

Installed alongside the red carpet, opposite the event entrance, ABB’s best selling chargers will be used to charge the Audi e-trons which will transport guests to the event. Further ABB Terra chargers are located close to the festival site for any additional charging requirements.

The chargers offer a safe, smart and sustainable EV charging solution which supports ABB Electrification’s Mission to Zero for smart cities – a vision for a zero-emission reality for all.

Frank Muehlon, Head of ABB’s global business for E-mobility Infrastructure Solutions comments: “This high-profile event is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase the future of e-mobility to a global audience.

“Emission-free mobility is a significant part of ABB Electrification’s Mission to Zero for smart cities and we are delighted to be partnering with Audi to shine a spotlight on the vital role which sustainable travel can play in creating a greener world for future generations.”

ABB is a world leader in electric vehicle infrastructure, offering the full range of charging and electrification solutions for electric cars, electric and hybrid buses as well as for ships and railways. ABB entered the EV-charging market back in 2010, and has currently sold more than 13,000 DC fast chargers across more than 80 countries.

ABB recently received the Global E-mobility Leader 2019 award for its role in supporting the international adoption of sustainable transport solutions.

ABB offers products and services that provide a crucial contribution to increased sustainability. Close to 60 percent of ABB worldwide sales are generated with technology that contributes to the elimination of the causes of climate change.
