Xiaomi Expands YU7 Lineup With New YU7 Standard and High-Performance YU7 GT

Xiaomi has officially expanded its YU7 electric SUV lineup with the launch of the new Xiaomi YU7 Standard and the high-performance Xiaomi YU7 GT, further strengthening the brand’s position in China’s booming EV market.

Positioned as a luxury high-performance family SUV, the Xiaomi YU7 Series has already become one of the best-selling mid-to-large electric SUVs in China. Xiaomi says the model secured more than 240,000 locked orders within 18 hours of launch, while cumulative deliveries reached 232,000 units by April 30, 2026.

The new Xiaomi YU7 Standard starts at RMB 233,500 (about 29,620 euros), while the flagship Xiaomi YU7 GT starts at RMB 389,900 (about 49,460 euros).

Xiaomi YU7 GT Sets Nürburgring SUV Record

The biggest headline comes from the Xiaomi YU7 GT’s performance credentials. Equipped with Xiaomi’s latest electric drivetrain and track-focused chassis upgrades, the SUV posted a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 7:22.755, beating the previous SUV record by 14 seconds.

Developed with support from Xiaomi EV’s European R&D center in Munich, the YU7 GT was tuned over a two-year period by engineers with experience from established performance brands. The result is an electric SUV designed to blend supercar-level acceleration with long-distance grand touring comfort.

Bold Design With Luxury SUV Presence

The Xiaomi YU7 keeps its sporty long-hood proportions and low, muscular stance, giving it a more athletic appearance than most family-focused electric SUVs.

Three new exterior colors — Crimson Red, Radiant Purple, and Volcanic Gray — join the lineup, while Xiaomi also introduces new wheel designs, including the distinctive Plum Blossom rims.

The YU7 GT receives a more aggressive visual treatment. Wider rear tires, carbon fiber exterior details, a redesigned front splitter, and an active rear diffuser help distinguish it from the standard model. Optional 21-inch forged wheels further improve handling and visual impact.

Inside, Xiaomi combines luxury materials with advanced technology. The YU7 GT features Alcantara trim, carbon fiber accents, GT-specific interior themes, quilted seats, and a five-screen connected cockpit setup. Buyers can also choose exclusive interior color combinations, including Racing Red and Blaze Black.

Despite its performance focus, practicality remains central to the YU7 lineup. Rear passengers benefit from generous space and reclining seats, while cargo capacity expands to 1,740 liters with the rear seats folded.

Supercar Performance Meets Everyday Comfort

The Xiaomi YU7 Series comes standard with Xiaomi Smart Chassis 2.0, featuring adaptive suspension hardware, double-wishbone front suspension, and a rear five-link setup.

The standard YU7 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 220 km/h, offering more than enough performance for everyday driving.

The YU7 GT, however, operates in an entirely different league.

Powered by Xiaomi’s new HyperEngine V8s EVO motors and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, the GT produces an astonishing 1,003 PS. That enables a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 2.92 seconds and a top speed of 300 km/h.

Xiaomi also equipped the GT with advanced chassis technology, including:

– Dual-valve CDC adaptive dampers
– Dual-chamber air suspension
– Electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD)
– Carbon-ceramic brakes with Akebono calipers

The braking system delivers a 100-0 km/h stopping distance of only 32.9 meters and is engineered to maintain performance during repeated high-speed braking sessions.

Up to 705 km of Range

Range and charging performance remain key strengths of the new YU7 lineup.

The Xiaomi YU7 Standard uses a 73 kWh LFP battery paired with a 752V high-voltage platform, delivering a CLTC-rated range of 643 km. Xiaomi says a 15-minute fast charge can add up to 385 km of range.

Meanwhile, the YU7 GT features a larger 101.7 kWh ternary lithium battery and an 897V ultra-high-voltage architecture with 5.2C charging capability. The flagship SUV delivers a CLTC range of up to 705 km while still offering supercar-level performance.

Advanced Technology and Safety Features

Technology is another major focus for Xiaomi EV. Every YU7 model includes the Xiaomi HyperVision panoramic display system, the upgraded XiaoAi voice assistant, and Xiaomi HAD (Hyper Assisted Driving).

The advanced driver assistance suite runs on NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Thor hardware delivering 700 TOPS of computing power and includes LiDAR, 4D millimeter-wave radar, highway navigation assist, urban navigation assist, and automated parking.

Xiaomi says all driver assistance functions are included free for life without subscription fees.

Safety has also been heavily emphasized. The YU7 Series features a reinforced body structure using 2,200 MPa ultra-high-strength steel and battery systems that have undergone more than 1,200 durability and safety tests.

Xiaomi Targets the Premium Electric SUV Market

With the YU7 Standard targeting mainstream premium buyers and the YU7 GT pushing into super-SUV territory, Xiaomi is rapidly evolving from a smartphone giant into a serious electric vehicle manufacturer.

The combination of long range, ultra-fast charging, luxury appointments, and Nürburgring-tested performance gives the Xiaomi YU7 lineup strong appeal in China’s increasingly competitive EV segment.

For now, the Xiaomi YU7 Series is available exclusively in the Chinese mainland market, with test drives already underway at Xiaomi EV retail locations nationwide.
