Volvo Expands Tesla Supercharger Access Across Europe for EV Drivers

Volvo Cars is expanding public charging access for its electric vehicle customers by integrating the Tesla Supercharger network into its charging ecosystem across Europe.

Starting in the fourth quarter of 2026, Volvo EV drivers will be able to access more than 20,000 Tesla Supercharger stations in 29 European countries directly through the Volvo Cars app. The move significantly broadens charging availability for Volvo owners and strengthens the company’s push toward a more seamless electric mobility experience.

The majority of the newly accessible Supercharger locations are concentrated in major EV markets including Germany, France, Norway, United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Spain.

According to Volvo Cars, the expansion is designed to simplify public charging and improve convenience for drivers transitioning to fully electric vehicles.

Alejandro Castro Pérez, Head of Energy Solutions at Volvo Cars, said the company already provides access to more than three million charging points globally through the Volvo app. By adding Tesla Superchargers in Europe, Volvo drivers gain easier access to one of the world’s most widely recognised fast-charging networks.

The automaker also confirmed plans to adopt the North American Charging System (NACS) standard in selected Asia-Pacific markets. By 2029, certain Volvo EV models in Japan and South Korea are expected to support NACS, opening future access to Tesla’s charging infrastructure in those countries.

Volvo already offers access to approximately 120,000 charging points across North America, including Tesla Superchargers, while European customers currently have access to more than 1.2 million public charging points through the Volvo Cars app.

The latest expansion aligns with Volvo’s broader strategy to make EV ownership more convenient through improved charging interoperability and standardisation. As competition intensifies in the electric vehicle market, access to reliable and widely available fast charging remains a major factor influencing consumer adoption.

The expanded Tesla Supercharger access will apply to several of Volvo’s latest electric vehicles, including the Volvo EX30, Volvo EX40, Volvo EC40, Volvo EX60, Volvo EX90 and Volvo ES90.
