At the core of this update is a new official API that allows Ohme chargers to communicate directly with compatible vehicles. This enables near real-time access to a car’s state of charge—removing the guesswork from home charging.
Drivers of electric models from Volkswagen, Škoda, SEAT, Cupra, Audi, and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles—primarily those built on the MEB platform—can now see live battery data directly in the Ohme app.
This tighter integration means the system can automatically optimize charging sessions based on how much energy the car actually needs, rather than relying on manual input or estimates.
Ohme’s chargers, including the Home Pro and Home Pro MID, are designed to take full advantage of flexible electricity tariffs. By automatically shifting charging to off-peak periods when electricity prices are lower, the system can significantly reduce running costs over time.
