
At Auto China 2026, NIO Inc. presented its multi-brand vision under the theme “A Vast New Realm.” The company showcased NIO, ONVO, and firefly together for the first time, displaying 11 models and 12 full-stack technologies that highlight its growing presence in the premium electric vehicle market.
The headline reveal was the NIO ES9, a new flagship executive SUV built on over a decade of system-level innovation. The ES9 integrates more than 40 industry-first technologies and nearly 40 class-leading features, positioning it at the forefront of the premium electric SUV segment.
The model is set to begin a 10,000 km endurance challenge in early May, with market launch and deliveries scheduled for later in the month. At the show, visitors can explore its advanced systems, including NIO’s SkyRide Full Active Suspension through immersive demonstrations.
ES8 Mirrorblack Edition strengthens premium lineup
NIO also introduced the updated NIO ES8 Mirrorblack Edition. This variant adds exclusive exterior and interior elements, including black chrome details, 22-inch forged wheels, and a redesigned cabin theme aimed at executive buyers.
The ES8 continues to perform strongly, surpassing 100,000 deliveries in just 215 days. It has led its segment for four consecutive months in China’s large SUV category above RMB 400,000 (50,000 euros), reinforcing its position in the premium market.
Updated ET5, ES6 and EC6 models showcased
Refreshed versions of the NIO ET5, ET5 Touring, NIO ES6, and NIO EC6 were also displayed. The 2026 updates focus on improved design, enhanced cabin comfort, and upgraded smart driving features.
A new Clean Park Edition introduces additional customization options, with exclusive design and configuration enhancements across these models.
ONVO and firefly expand NIO’s multi-brand
NIO’s sub-brand ONVO presented the ONVO L90, a large SUV equipped with advanced smart driving technology. It features the NX9031 chip, the world’s first 5 nm automotive-grade processor, alongside NIO’s World Model and NIO OS, delivering a fully integrated intelligent driving system.
The ONVO L80, another upcoming model, is scheduled for its official launch and pre-orders shortly after the show.
Meanwhile, firefly focused on personalization and urban mobility, presenting updated models and custom builds aimed at younger buyers and design-focused customers.

Battery swap expansion and full-stack innovation
NIO also highlighted its expanding infrastructure and technology ecosystem. Key innovations on display include the NX9031 smart driving chip, SkyRide Intelligent Chassis, and a 900V high-performance electric drive system.
A major announcement was the Silk Road Power Swap Route, a 3,448 km network supported by more than 30 battery swap stations. The first completed section will span 1,739 km, enabling long-distance travel with seamless battery swapping.
Strengthening a multi-brand EV strategy
With NIO, ONVO, and firefly presented together, the company reinforced its long-term strategy of building a comprehensive EV ecosystem. By combining advanced hardware, proprietary software, and an expanding charging and battery swap network, NIO continues to push toward a more integrated and intelligent electric mobility future.
Auto China 2026 runs from April 24 to May 3 in Beijing, where NIO’s full lineup and latest innovations remain on display.
