NIO’s Firefly Debuts RHD Model and Rally Concept in Guangzhou. Firefly Hits 30,000 Deliveries While Accelerating Global Expansion.

Just seven months after launching its debut EV hatchback, NIO’s high-end small car brand Firefly announced at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show that it has reached a significant milestone: 30,000 cumulative deliveries.

Since the model’s launch on April 19, Firefly has maintained an aggressive pace. Through October alone, the brand delivered 26,242 vehicles. While the vast majority of these sales occurred in China, the brand is rapidly gaining a foothold in Europe, with units already reaching Norway, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

The company confirmed plans to enter 17 additional markets worldwide. European expansion continues with test drives and deliveries soon to begin in Denmark, Greece, Austria, Portugal, and Luxembourg.

Earlier this week, Firefly has commenced mass production of its Right-Hand Drive (RHD) model. Following its debut in Guangzhou, the first batch is scheduled to ship to Singapore, with Macau and Hong Kong to follow later this year. The United Kingdom, Thailand and Australia are targeted for 2026 entry.

It wasn’t all business at the Guangzhou Auto Show. Firefly turned heads with a rally-style concept of its hatchback, developed in partnership with the automotive design studio APW.

Dubbed the “Eye of the Storm,” the concept features a lowered suspension, carbon fiber aerodynamic components, and rugged rally all-terrain tires. The company described the vehicle as a “refined balance born from the collision of two powerful forces.”

Designed to compete with Mini and Smart, the Firefly brand made its official debut on December 21, 2024, during Nio Day. The brand’s rollout has been rapid: its first model launched in China on April 19, and by August 14, deliveries were already underway in key European markets like Norway and the Netherlands.
