2026 Lexus ES 350e & ES 500e: Specs, Range, Pricing

The eighth-generation Lexus ES has officially gone on sale, with the new all-electric ES 350e and ES 500e reaching dealerships ahead of updated hybrid variants.

Built on an all-new multi-pathway platform, the eighth-generation ES blends electrification, modern design, and cutting-edge technology—while maintaining the comfort-focused DNA that made it a global success.

With the introduction of the ES 350e and ES 500e, Lexus is making a strong push into the electric luxury sedan space. Competitive range, refined design, and a tech-rich interior position the new ES as a serious rival to established EV players.

First-Ever Electric Lexus ES: What You Need to Know

The biggest headline is simple: the ES is now a BEV.

Both electric variants share a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery, but differ in drivetrain and performance:

ES 350e (FWD):
– Single motor
– 221 hp
– 0–60 mph in 7.4 seconds
– Up to 307 miles EPA-estimated range

ES 500e (AWD):

– Dual motors (front + rear)
– 338 hp combined
– 0–60 mph in 5.1 seconds
– Up to 276 miles EPA-estimated range

The ES 500e also introduces DIRECT4 all-wheel drive, dynamically adjusting torque between axles for better traction and smoother acceleration.

Sleeker Design, Bigger Dimensions

Inspired by the LF-ZC concept, the 2026 ES features a more aerodynamic and futuristic design. Electric models benefit from a cleaner front fascia and a low drag coefficient of just 0.25.

Key exterior highlights include:

– L-shaped LED lighting signature
– Full-width LED Blade taillamp with illuminated logo
– New paint options like Wavelength and Copper Crest
– Available 21-inch aerodynamic wheels

The new ES is also larger than before, offering:

– Longer wheelbase (+3.1 inches)
– More rear legroom (+1.4 inches)
– Improved headroom and shoulder space

The result is a roomier, more premium cabin experience.

Minimalist Luxury Meets Advanced Tech

Inside, the ES adopts a clean, modern layout while elevating comfort and materials.
Standard tech includes:

– 12.3-inch digital driver display
– 14.0-inch touchscreen with latest Lexus Interface
– Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
– Dual Bluetooth connectivity

Higher trims add:

– 17-speaker Mark Levinson premium audio
– Bamboo-trimmed interior with ambient lighting
– Semi-aniline leather seats

A standout feature is the Executive Package (ES 350e Luxury), transforming the rear seats into a lounge-like space with reclining seats and ottoman, heating, ventilation, massage and rear climate controls.

Charging and Infrastructure: NACS Comes Standard

The 2026 ES adopts the North American Charging System (NACS), aligning with Tesla’s charging standard.

Charging capabilities include:

– DC fast charging (10–80%): ~28 minutes
– Level 2 charging (11 kW): ~7 hours
– Plug & Charge functionality
– Battery preconditioning for faster charging

A CCS adapter is included, ensuring compatibility with over 76,000 public chargers.

Connected Features and Smart Services

The new ES is packed with connected technologies:

– Cloud-based navigation with real-time updates
– Voice assistant (“Hey Lexus”)
– Remote vehicle controls via app
– Digital Key 2.0 (smartphone as key)
– Integrated streaming (Spotify support)

The system also supports over-the-air updates, keeping the vehicle current over time.

Lexus Safety System+ 4.0

Safety gets a major upgrade with Lexus Safety System+ 4.0, standard across all models.
Key features include:

– Pre-Collision System with pedestrian detection
– Lane Tracing Assist and Lane Change Assist
– Traffic Jam Assist (Luxury trims)
– Proactive Driving Assist
– Front Cross-Traffic Alert

The system delivers more natural, human-like interventions and enhanced driver support.

Pricing and Trims

The 2026 ES lineup is competitively priced for a luxury EV sedan:

– ES 350e Premium: $48,795
– ES 500e Premium AWD: $51,795
– ES 350e Luxury: $57,195
– ES 500e Luxury AWD: $60,195

Hybrid models (ES 350h) will follow shortly, starting at $50,995.
