New MG4 EV Urban Arrives in the UK with Prices Starting at £23,495

MG is kicking off an exciting new chapter for one of its most successful electric cars yet. The all-new MG4 EV Urban made its UK debut, while the original, award-winning MG4 EV returns with notable upgrades in technology, interior quality, driving dynamics, and electric range.

With an expanded MG4 lineup, buyers now have more choice than ever — from the efficient, spacious, and attractively priced MG4 EV Urban Comfort to the high-performance MG4 EV XPOWER, the most powerful version yet.

Since its launch in 2022, the MG4 EV has become one of the UK’s most popular electric cars, recording nearly 50,000 sales and earning 50 major awards and recommendations.

According to David Allison, MG UK’s Director of Product and Planning, the model has helped make electric driving accessible to a wider audience, combining distinctive styling with engaging performance and strong value for money.

MG is now building on that success. The newly introduced MG4 EV Urban reinforces the brand’s mission to make EV ownership even more affordable, offering a family-sized electric hatchback with prices starting from just £23,495. At the same time, the 2026 MG4 EV receives a major interior technology upgrade, improved build quality, and a renewed focus on class-leading driving range. For performance fans, the dual-motor MG4 EV XPOWER delivers an impressive 320 kW of power.

The MG4 EV Urban lineup offers practical, budget-friendly electric mobility. The Comfort Standard Range starts at £23,495, while the Comfort Long Range is priced at £25,495. Topping the Urban range is the Premium Long Range, available from £27,995, with generous standard equipment.

For 2026, the standard MG4 EV becomes even more competitive. The range opens with the Premium Long Range at £29,995, representing a £2,750 price reduction compared to the outgoing model. The Premium Extended Range, priced from £32,995, offers up to 338 miles of WLTP-combined range, making it one of the most affordable long-range electric cars currently available in the UK.

At the top of the lineup sits the MG4 EV XPOWER. Priced at £33,995, it remains one of the fastest-accelerating cars on sale in the UK, regardless of powertrain.

MG UK’s Commercial Director, Guy Pigounakis, notes that the original MG4 EV helped put MG back on the automotive map. The latest updates retain the car’s best-loved driving characteristics while introducing new technologies and improved refinement. The addition of the MG4 EV Urban further strengthens MG’s value-focused EV offering.

Both the MG4 EV Urban and MG4 EV are backed by MG’s 7-year/80,000-mile warranty and supported by a comprehensive UK dealer network, ensuring peace of mind for customers switching to electric.
