Honda Launches UC3 Electric Commuter in Thailand and Vietnam

Honda is set to begin sales of its new fixed-battery electric two-wheeled personal commuter, the Honda UC3, in Thailand and Vietnam starting this spring.

Positioned as the electric equivalent of a 110cc internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycle, the UC3 represents a major step forward in Honda’s electric mobility strategy. Alongside the launch, Honda is also expanding charging infrastructure across major urban centers in both countries.

The UC3 is the first electric motorcycle to fully embody Honda’s new global brand promise for its electric motorcycle business: “Expected life. Unexpected discoveries.”

Developed around the concept of an “Intelligent Urban Life Partner,” the UC3 delivers value unique to electric vehicles while maintaining the quality, reliability, and safety standards Honda has built over decades of ICE development.

Powering the UC3 is Honda’s first fixed-type lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, paired with a wheel-side motor developed and manufactured in-house. The motor produces a maximum output of 6.0 kW, and thanks to optimized regenerative control and improved magnetic circuit efficiency, the UC3 achieves a cruising range of up to 122 km per charge (WMTC Mode 1, Thailand-certified value).

Riders can choose from three riding modes—STANDARD, SPORT, and ECON—to suit different road conditions and personal preferences. A reverse mode is also included, making parking and low-speed maneuvering easier in tight urban spaces.

The UC3 features a sleek, modern design with flowing curves from front to rear and a distinctive arched tail section. A horizontal signature light—first seen on Honda’s initial electric motorcycle, the Honda WN7—adds a recognizable visual identity. Its EV-exclusive color scheme combines a predominantly black body with gold-accented components, while the product mark uses a newly developed “Honda” font created specifically for electric motorcycles.

The UC3 adopts “CHAdeMO for two-wheelers,” a charging standard based on international specifications recommended by the CHAdeMO Association. Two charger options are available to suit different environments:

Charge time (Approx.)1200W450W
0→100%4 hours9 hours
20→80%2 hours5 hours

To support the UC3 rollout, Honda is accelerating the development of charging infrastructure in both Thailand and Vietnam.

In Thailand, Honda will expand CHAdeMO charging stations for two-wheelers, primarily at Honda motorcycle dealerships and shopping malls in and around Bangkok, while in Vietnam, installation of charging stations will begin at Honda motorcycle dealerships in major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang, with operations targeted to start in June 2026.

At the same time, Honda will continue improving the ecosystem for electric motorcycles powered by its swappable Honda Mobile Power Pack e: battery. The company plans to further expand Honda e:Swap BATTERY STATION installations at dealerships in Bangkok and Hanoi.

Production of the UC3 began in December 2025 at Thai Honda Co., Ltd., with units supplied to both Thailand and Vietnam. In Vietnam, Honda plans to transition to local production in 2026 at Honda Vietnam Co., Ltd., ensuring a stable supply as the country’s motorcycle market rapidly electrifies.
