Rivian unveils the 2026 R1T and R1S Quad-Motor

Rivian has officially unveiled the production versions of its highly anticipated quad-motor R1S SUV and R1T pickup, delivering on its promise of exceptionally powerful electric vehicles. These new models boast impressive performance figures for large pickups and SUVs.

At the heart of the Gen 2 Quad are four motors, one at each wheel, delivering a combined 1,025 horsepower and 1,198 lb-ft of torque. That means 0-60 mph in as little as 2.5 seconds and ¼ mile in 10.5 seconds.

The newest drive unit, featuring two in-house designed and manufactured motors, powers both the front and rear of the Quad-Motor vehicles. The rear drive unit has a larger gear ratio and is built for maximum performance and torque delivery while the front drive unit is optimized for maximizing efficiency at cruising speeds.

While operating in Conserve mode, an automatic rear disconnect helps to make AWD performance available almost all of the time and intuitively disengages the rear drive unit when driving demand doesn’t require it, helping you maximize range when you need it and performance when you want it.

The new motors are oil-cooled, significantly improving thermal performance during high-torque, low-speed driving such as rock crawling while also improving range efficiency during low-torque, high-speed cruising on highways.

Each motor is individually controlled, giving the vehicle true four-corner torque vectoring for immediate, precise adjustment in traction and balance. Expect next-level performance in every environment: launch control on the pavement, surefooted handling in the rain or snow and precise control on challenging terrain.

Offering an EPA-estimated up to 374 miles of range (and up to 400 miles in Conserve mode), not only is the Gen 2 Quad more powerful and capable, it enables you to go further on road trips.

Purposeful Design, Elevating Every Detail

The Ascend interior ushers in a level of detail and timeless design upgrades for the new Quad. The premium interior includes quilted seats, extended stitching, cut and sew material on the entire door panels, center console and instrument panel.

Throughout the interior, you’ll discover plaid detailing, seamlessly extended to the matching plaid floormats, creating a cohesive and distinctive aesthetic. A deep bronze finish on the interior metal is seen across the dash, door panels and speaker grilles, adding a touch of warmth to the cabin. Even the rear of the driver and passenger seat are wrapped with a unique new fabric providing softness and an inviting feel.

Ascend offers three elevated interior color combinations inspired by nature, including Ocean Coast with Driftwood, Black Mountain with Brown Ash Wood and Slate Sky with Walnut Wood.

On the outside, Quad uniquely features Laguna Beach Blue accented brake calipers and badging, subtly signaling its performance pedigree. Look closely at the Quad’s rear and you’ll spot Gear Guard with wind-swept hair, a playful and subtle hint at the vehicle’s exceptional 0-60 mph acceleration.

No detail is spared on Gen 2 Quad, where you’ll have access to freshly designed wheel choices both in 20″ and 22″ configurations. Debuting on Quad is the new 22″ Sport Burnished Bronze wheel with all-season tire. Looking for more performance? You can opt for the new 22″ Super wheel with Ultra High Performance tire. For those looking to go off-road, you have the option to choose between All-Terrain Dark wheels or the new Dune Satin Graphite All-Terrain wheels, both wrapped in a capable 34″ all-terrain tire.

Quad offers four different wheel and tire options as standard: 22″ Super Sport, 22″ Sport Burnished Bronze, 20″ All-Terrain Dark, and 20″ Dune Satin Graphite All-Terrain.

The new Quad-Motor R1S and R1T also benefit from a suite of significant upgrades like: Dynamic Glass Roof, Rivian Premium Audio, Darkout Package, Air Compressor and reinforced underbody shield as standard on all Quad configurations.

Charging Ahead with NACS

Starting with model year 2026, every Rivian R1 vehicle will feature native North American Charging Standard (NACS) charge port. This opens the door to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network, offering seamless, fast charging across North America. All Quad-Motor R1s will also include a complimentary CCS DC adapter, empowering you with access to virtually every charging type available.

Pricing & Availabilty

Gen 2 Quad deliveries will begin in July, starting with Launch Edition vehicles.

– R1S pricing starts at $121,990 USD ($201,990 CAD) and R1T starts at $115,990 USD ($190,990 CAD).

– Launch Edition pricing for R1S starts at $125,990 USD ($207,990 CAD) and R1T starts at $119,990 USD ($196,990 CAD).
