Suzuki, a global two-wheeler powerhouse, has unveiled its first all-electric offering: the e-Address scooter. The debut took place at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi, India.
While known as the e-Access in India, the e-Address 125 will grace European roads.
Powering the e-Address is a 5.4 hp (4 kW) electric motor producing 11 lb-ft (15 Nm) of torque. A 3.07-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery provides a claimed range of 54.1 miles (87 km) and requires 6.7 hours for a full charge.
Despite the battery being fixed (not swappable), Suzuki has cleverly designed the e-Address to offer 17 liters (3.7 gal) of under-seat storage. This should be a boon for commuters needing to carry personal items. With a comfortable seat height of under 30.1 inches (765 mm) and a curb weight of just 269 lb (122 kg), the e-Address aims to be accessible to riders of all skill levels.
The e-Address is packed with modern features, including keyless entry, a 4.2-inch TFT LCD screen with smartphone connectivity and navigation, and LED lighting. A reverse gear adds to maneuverability, and regenerative braking helps maximize battery life. Riders can also choose from multiple driving modes: Eco for maximizing range, A for increased regenerative braking, and B which simulates the feel of a gasoline-powered scooter.
Standard features include both center and side stands. Suzuki also offers accessories like a tinted windshield, a 27-liter (5.9-gal) top case, a back pad, and an adapter plate for the top case. The suspension consists of a standard telescopic fork at the front and a swingarm with a shock absorber at the rear. Both front and rear wheels are 12 inches, with a front disc brake and a rear drum brake providing stopping power.
Available in three color combinations (Metallic Mat Black No.2/Metallic Mat Bordeaux Red, Pearl Jade Green/Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray, and Pearl Grace White/Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray), the e-Address aims to appeal to a broad audience.
The Suzuki e-Address is slated for an April launch in India, with a UK release expected in late 2025. A US launch is unlikely.
Developed and manufactured by Suzuki Motorcycle India, this electric scooter is poised to make waves in the commuter market. This launch is a significant step in Suzuki’s electrification strategy. The company has committed to releasing eight electric vehicles by 2030 and, after a slight delay, has delivered on its promise of an electric model in 2024. Suzuki is also investing heavily in research and development, particularly in battery technology, as part of its multi-pathway approach to carbon neutrality.
