Xpeng Mona L03 Opens Pre-Sales Ahead of Global Launch with BEV and EREV Powertrains

Xpeng has officially opened pre-sales for the new Mona L03, the first SUV in its Mona lineup, ahead of the model’s global debut on July 16 in Munich, Germany. Positioned as a smart and stylish SUV for younger buyers, the Mona L03 will be offered in 64 countries and regions later this year.

The new electric SUV is available in six variants, with pre-sale prices ranging from 143,800 yuan ($21,200) to 165,800 yuan ($24,400). It also marks the second model in the Mona family, following the successful M03 sedan.

Designed for Efficiency

Created by a global design team led by former Ferrari exterior designer Juanma Lopez, the Mona L03 combines sleek styling with impressive aerodynamics. Measuring 4,650 mm long, 1,920 mm wide, and 1,600 mm tall, with a 2,850 mm wheelbase, the SUV features a fastback-inspired silhouette.

Thanks to 22 aerodynamic optimizations, the Mona L03 achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.228, helping increase driving range by as much as 59.3 km.

Premium Cabin with AI Technology

Inside, the Mona L03 offers a technology-focused interior centered around a 15.6-inch 2.5K touchscreen and a 26.8-inch W-HUD head-up display.

One of the SUV’s biggest highlights is Xpeng’s latest intelligent driving platform. Every version comes standard with the company’s in-house Turing AI chip, while higher trims significantly increase computing performance:

– Max models: Single Turing chip delivering 750 TOPS, paired with a distilled version of Xpeng’s second-generation Vision-Language-Action (VLA) assisted driving system.
– Ultra SE models: Dual Turing chips providing 1,500 TOPS of computing power and supporting the full second-generation VLA platform.

By equipping a mass-market SUV with flagship-level AI hardware, Xpeng is raising the benchmark for intelligent driving technology in the segment.

Additional cabin highlights include:

– 20-speaker audio system with over 1,000W of output
– Front zero-gravity passenger seat with 14-point massage
– 256-color ambient lighting
– Road Noise Cancellation (RNC)
– 40 storage compartments
– 539-liter luggage compartment expandable to 1,640 liters
– 102-liter front trunk (frunk)
– 6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) power output

BEV and EREV Powertrain Choices

The Mona L03 continues Xpeng’s dual-powertrain strategy by offering both battery electric (BEV) and extended-range electric (EREV) versions.

Pure Electric (BEV)

The BEV model uses a 183 kW (246 hp) electric motor paired with either a 56 kWh or 69 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery from CALB.

Key specifications include:

– CLTC range of 525 km or 625 km
– Energy consumption of 11.9 kWh/100 km
– 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds
– 3C fast charging, allowing a 10-80% charge in 19.1 minutes

Extended-Range Electric (EREV)

The EREV variant combines a 70 kW 1.5-liter range extender with the same 183 kW electric motor.

It delivers:

– 315 km of pure electric CLTC range
– 1,330 km total CLTC driving range
– 5.16 L/100 km WLTC fuel consumption

The SUV also features DCC intelligent variable damping suspension and an upgraded Anti-Motion Sickness Mode 2.0 designed to improve ride comfort.

Global Launch Planned for July 16

Xpeng says the Mona L03 is a global model and will begin rolling out internationally following its official launch event in Munich on July 16.

The company also introduced a ROAM Special Edition, developed with brand ambassador Ouyang Nana, aimed at strengthening the model’s appeal among younger buyers.

The Mona naming strategy is also noteworthy. According to Xpeng, “M” represents sedan while “L” stands for SUV, together forming the inspiration behind the Mona name, a reference to the “Mona Lisa.”

The Mona L03 has an important role to play in Xpeng’s product strategy. The M03 sedan proved to be a major success after its launch in 2024, delivering 175,689 units in 2025, or nearly 41% of the company’s total annual deliveries. Although M03 sales have cooled during 2026, Xpeng’s overall momentum is improving, with 40,126 vehicles delivered in June, its strongest monthly result of the year and the first year-over-year sales increase after five consecutive months of declines.

With competitive pricing, long driving range, premium technology, and advanced AI-assisted driving features, the Mona L03 is positioned to become one of Xpeng’s most important global launches of 2026.
