Onvo, Nio’s new mass-market electric vehicle brand, has officially started production of its debut model, the L60.
The first vehicle rolled off the assembly line at Nio’s F2 plant in Hefei, China. The company also unveiled the L60’s interior design.
Targeting the mass market, the L60 is positioned as a direct competitor to Tesla’s Model Y.
Priced at RMB 219,900 (approximately $30,730) , the L60 undercuts the Model Y by RMB 30,000.
The Onvo L60 will be offered with three different battery pack options: 555 km, 730 km, and over 1000 km.
With a focus on family-oriented features, Onvo describes the L60’s cabin as an “Urban Oasis AI Smart Cockpit.”
It boasts a spacious interior with a 17.2-inch central display, an 8-inch rear screen, a premium sound system, and customizable ambient lighting.
Before entering production, the L60 underwent rigorous testing, covering over 6.77 million kilometers. Onvo claims this is significantly higher than industry standards. The company also emphasized that the L60 shares manufacturing facilities and processes with Nio’s core brand, ensuring high quality and efficiency.
Deliveries for the L60 are expected to start in late September, following the official launch in the same month.
