Hyundai has unveiled a number of stunning concept cars in recent years, but their newest one has a unique twist.
To celebrate its first mass-production car, the South Korean giant unveiled a reinterpretation of the old ’70s-era Hyundai Pony as an EV concept in a design exhibition by Hyundai Motorstudio Busan called “Reflections in Motion.”
The images of the concept EV were uploaded on Instagram by Yang Gu-Rum, one of the designers of Hyundai.
The Pony EV concept features modern headlights, while the rear has been fitted with LED taillights similar to those of the Ioniq 5. It also features camera-based exterior mirrors mounted on the fenders, as well as retro-styled wheels.
The instrument panel of the Pony based EV concept car furnishes an impression of ’70s styling. Its electric powertrain wasn’t specified.
The Pony EV concept will be on display at the Hyundai Motorstudio in Busan until June 27, 2021.
