The Belgian plug-in electric vehicle market registered a record 1,403 plug-in passenger cars last month, up 96% Year-on-Year.
Breaking down sales by model, the best-selling model in May was the BMW X5 PHEV, with 187 units (new personal best), while the second place went for two models, the Mercedes GLC350e and the BMW 225xe Active Tourer, both with 178 units, a record performance for the BMW model.
It was a positive month for BMW, placing three models in the Top 4, as the recently arrived BMW 530e was fourth with 116 units.
In the YTD ranking, we have the Mercedes GLC350e leading, with 777 registrations, now followed by two BMW’s, the second placed BMW X5 PHEV (707 units), and the BMW 330e, up to third place, with 451 registrations.
In the Light Commercial Vehicles (N1) category, sales are up 12% this year, with 55 units, with the Nissan e-NV200 leading the ranking, with 30 registrations.
In the CNG passenger car market, sales are growing 30% YoY to 900 units, while the LPG M1 market is up 104% this year, to 108 units.
