
The Swedish plug-in electric car market registered 1.229 units in January, up 373% regarding the same month last year, with the market share hitting a record 5.3%.
The VW Passat GTE was the best-selling car last month, with a record of 549 deliveries, followed from a far by the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, with 135 registrations, and the Volvo V60 PHEV, with 86.
The Volvo XC90 PHEV sold 66 units, while the surprise came from the fifth placed Tesla Model S, which saw its deliveries surge 200% YoY to 58 units.
On the EV manufacturers ranking in Sweden, Volkswagen (48%) has the market covered, with Volvo (12%) securing the runner-up status, while Mitsubishi (11%) rounds the podium.
In the Light Commercial Vehicles (N1) class, registrations were up 11% to 20 units, the Renault Kangoo ZE started the year in the leadership, with 16 units, followed by the Nissan e-NV200, with the remaining 4 units.
