
The German plug-in vehicle market was up 6% in 2016, having registered 24.776 units, reaching a market share of 0.74%, slightly above the 0.72% of 2015.
But growth pattern was not the same between battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, while all-electric vehicles were actually down 7% year-on-year, to 11.284 units, plug-in hybrids grew 21% during the same period.
The Renault Zoe was this year best-seller, with 2.804 units, followed by the Audi A3 e-Tron (1.615 registrations) and the all-electric BMW i3, with 1.521 units.
Looking at the LCV (N1) category, the StreetScooter Work was the driving force, with this model representing 1.300 of the 1.630 LCVs registered during 2016.
