2017 Ford Fusion Energi

For 2017, Fusion Energi – Ford’s plug-in hybrid midsize sedan – has an EPA-estimated rating of 104 MPGe city, 91 MPGe highway and 97 MPGe combined.

Fusion Energi has a redesigned front and rear fascia, updated interior with rotary gear shift dial, improved storage and USB access. It is available through Ford certified electric vehicle dealers.

The 2017 Fusion Energi has 59 percent more storage over the previous model, including 30 percent more storage in the console. Forward visibility is improved thanks to a slimmer A-pillar, and a larger footrest is designed to better accommodate various foot sizes. The armrest is lengthened about 3.0 inches, while the addition of a lighted USB port means increased connectivity on the forward wall.

New Fusion Energi Platinum edition features leather-lined and quilted door trim panels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather dashboard and LED headlamps.

Fusion Energi has several available driver-assist features such as SYNC® 3 with Siri EyesFree® capability, adaptive cruise control, stop-and-go functionality, and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection. Enhanced active park assist, which adds reverse perpendicular parking to existing parallel parking functionality, is now available as well.

Fusion Energi gets new colors for 2017, including Lightning Blue, Burgundy Velvet Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and White Gold.

The plug-in capability of the 2017 Fusion Energi means the lithium-ion battery can be fully charged overnight in approximately seven hours using the standard 120-volt convenience charge cord. Available 240-volt charging options reduce charge time to about 2.5 hours.

The car’s combination of lithium-ion battery, electric motor and gasoline engine offers impressive efficiency and the best of both worlds; for short trips, Fusion Energi can be driven as an electric vehicle, while on longer trips it can function as a hybrid.

The 2017 Ford Fusion Energi is priced from $31,120 before incentives. Fusion Energi is produced at Ford’s manufacturing facility in Hermosillo, Mexico.
