All major automakers are posting October sales numbers for plug-in electric vehicles.

Sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF totaled 1,412 units, up 14.1% compared to October of 2015 when Nissan sold 1,238 LEAF EV’s. In terms of year-to-date results in 2016, sales of the Nissan LEAF now stand at 10,650, which is down by 28.4% compared with 2015 when 14,868 were sold. Nissan introduced the 2016 all-electric LEAF with an available 30 kWh battery that provides an EPA-estimated range of 107 miles – a 27-percent increase over the previous 24 kWH battery.
Chevrolet Volt sold 2,191 units last month, up 7.7 percent compared to October of 2015 when Chevy sold 2.035 Volts. Overall for the year, 18,517 Chevrolet Volt plug-ins have been sold, which is up by 63.9% compared to 2015 when 11,299 units were sold. Chevrolet Volt sales surpassed 100,000 units in the United States in late July.

Prius Plug-in Hybrid didn’t sold any unit during the month. The next generation Prius Prime PHV will come in December as a 2017 model car with a remarkable EPA-estimated 133 MPGe and MSRP that will range from $27,100 for the base Prius Prime Plus grade.

Ford C-MAX Energi sold 571 units in October. Previously in September, Ford sold 689 C-MAX Energi plug-ins. Overall for the year, 5,947 C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrids have been sold.

Ford Fusion Energi finished last month with 1,372 deliveries, after selling 1,652 units in September and 1,422 units in August. In terms of year-to-date results in 2016, sales of the Ford Fusion Energi now stand at 13,022.

GM sold 3 Cadillac ELRs last month. In terms of year-to-date, sales of the Cadillac ELR now stand at 526. General Motors has pulled the plug on the Cadillac ELR after years of dismal sales. Cadillac only managed to sell 1,354 units of the ELR in 2014, while only 1,024 were delivered during last year.

Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrids finished last month with 38 deliveries. Previously in September and August, Panamera S E-Hybrid sold 28 and 59 units respectively. Overall for the year, 302 Panamera S E-Hybrids have been sold.

The BMW X5 xDrive40e sold 406 units, after selling 482 plug-in SUVs in September and 876 in August. Overall for the year, 4,990 BMW X5 xDrive40e SUVs have been sold. With a total system output of 230 kW/313 hp generated by a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine and a synchronous electric motor, the BMW X5 xDrive40e achieves a combined fuel consumption of 69 – 71 mpg.

Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive finished last month with 58 deliveries, after selling 51 units in September and 57 units in August. Overall for the year, 526 B-Class Electric Drive have been sold. The B-Class Electric Drive starts from $41,450 and has an all-electric range of 87 miles. For an extra $600, one can purchase the extended range package which allows the driver go 104 miles.
|Mercedes-Benz S550 Plug-in Hybrid|
Mercedes-Benz S550 Plug-in Hybrid sold 174 unit last month. Overall for the year, 427 S550 Plug-in Hybrids have been sold. The S550 Plug-in Hybrid offers a system output of 436 hp and 479 lb-ft torque, sprints from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.2 seconds and can drive up to 20 miles purely electrically.

Volkswagen e-Golf sold 407 units last month, down 31.7 percent compared to October of 2015 when Volkswagen sold 596 e-Golf EVs. Overall for the year, 3,189 Volkswagen e-Golfs have been sold, which is up by 1.2% compared to 2015 when 3,151 units were sold.

Audi A3 Sportback e-tron sold 348 units during the month, after selling 312 units in September. In terms of year-to-date, sales of the A3 Sportback e-tron now stand at 3,297. The 2017 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron is priced at $38,900, and purchasing customers may qualify for applicable state and federal incentives and tax credits.

Volvo XC90 PHEV sold 142 units during the month, after selling 148 units in September and 176 units in August. Overall for the year, 1,650 XC90 PHEV SUVs have been sold. The MSRP of the Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV is $68,100 before incentives. The all-new BMW 330e sold 92 units during the month, after selling 54 units in September and 51 units in August. Overall for the year, 415 BMW 330e plug-in hybrids have been sold. The 2016 BMW 330e is priced at $44,695 including $995 destination & handling.
|Hyundai Sonata PHEV|
Hyundai Sonata plug-in hybrid sold 255 units during the month. Previously in September, Sonata PHEV sold 260 units. Overall for the year, 2,485 Sonata plug-in hybrids have been sold, Hyundai Sonata PHEV is priced from $34,600 before incentives.
|Kia Soul EV |
Kia Soul EV sold 190 units last month, after selling 217 units in September. Overall for the year, 1,352 Soul EVs have been sold. Offered in two trims, Base and + (Plus), the 2015 Kia Soul EV MSRP is $33,700 (not including federal tax rebate of $7,500) for the Base trim.
|Mercedes-Benz GLE 550e|
Mercedes-Benz GLE 550e sold 19 units in its second month on the market. Previously in September and August, the GLE 550e sold 26 and 24 units respectively. Overall for the year, 118 Mercedes-Benz GLE 550e plug-in hybrids have been sold GLE 550e is equipped with V6 gas engine and a seven-speed automatic transmission, combined with an electric motor for total system power of 436 hp, 479 ft lbs of torque. The 8.8 kWh battery pack stores enough juice to travel up to 30 km (19 miles) on electric power.

For May, Fiat 500e sold 345 units last month, after selling 440 units in September. In terms of year-to-date, sales of the Fiat 500e now stand at 3,790.

Spark EV sold 260 units, after selling 315 units in September and 292 units in August. Overall for the year, 2,979 Chevrolet Spark EVs have been sold.

Ford Focus Electric sold 73. In terms of year-to-date, sales of the Focus Electric now stand at 734.
|Smart Fortwo Electric Drive |
Last month, smart fortwo ED sold 43 units last month, after selling 44 units in September and 55 units in August. Overall for the year, 570 smart fortwo EDs have been sold.
|Mitsubishi i |
Mitsubishi sold 4 i-MiEV electric car in October, after selling 17 units in September and 25 units in August. Overal for the year, 86 iMiEVs have been sold. Last year, 115 i-MiEV EVs have been sold. The 2016 Mitsubishi i-MiEV will arrive at Mitsubishi dealers across the United States in late March 2015. With a starting MSRP of only $22,995, the 2016 i-MiEV is the most affordably-priced electric vehicle available in America today, and after factoring in the Federal tax credit of $7,500, the net starting MSRP is reduced to $15,495.
Toyota sold 103 Mirai fuel-cell electric sedans last month, after selling 69 units in September and 371 units in August. Overall for the year, 813 Mirai FCVs have been sold. The Mirai is priced MSRP $57,500 plus an $835 destination fee. With combined state and federal incentives of $13,000 available to many customers, the purchase price could potentially fall to under $45,000.
