Volkswagen e-Golf was the top-selling electric car in the 17 West European markets during the first two months of 2015, ousting the Nissan LEAF from first place.
According to AID Newsletter’s data, the e-Golf posted 2,150 regional registration during the opening two months of this year.
The sector’s previous front-runner, the Nissan LEAF, had to make do with the runner-up slot with a slimmer 1,750 regional sales.
One factors in particular contributed to the victory of VW’s all-electric Golf.
Thanks to a highly charged sales blitz in Norway – Europe’s only genuine electric car market – two months e-Golf sales in Norway soared to 1,716 units, Nissan LEAF posted a much lower 556 sales in the important Norway market for EVs.
