Polestar Announces Performance Upgrade for Volvo V60 D6 Plug-in Hybrid

polestar-volvo-v60-d6-plug-in-hybridThe Polestar optimization increases the power output to a total of 298 hp (222 kW) and 670 Nm, making it the strongest ever diesel model from Volvo.

“The Polestar optimization for the V60 D6 Plug-in Hybrid combines a strong fuel economy with performance. We are happy to be able to offer the Volvo customers with more driving pleasure in combination with the latest hybrid technology, a very interesting area for the future,” said Hans Bååth, marketing director for Polestar.

The new optimization increases the power of the diesel engine with 15 hp and 30 Nm, including an optimized power graph. Combined with the electric engine of 68 hp and 200 Nm, the performance figures are improved to 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.0 seconds, this with unchanged fuel consumption and emission levels: 1.8 l/100 km (130.6 mpg US or 157 mpg UK) and 48 g/km.

Polestar didn’t say anything about the top speed but we remind you the regular Volvo V60 D6 Plug-in Hybrid is electronically-limited to 143 mph (230 km/h) in hybrid mode and to 75 mph (120 km/h) when running solely on electric power.

Polestar Performance is installed by your Volvo dealer with retained Volvo warranty. The work can be carried out in connection with a regular service, tyre change, installation of Volvo accessories or reconditioning. As with other Volvo Original Accessories, Polestar Performance can increase the resale value of your Volvo.

The power upgrade is offered without voiding the warranty and for the moment it can be purchased in Sweden, United Kingdom and The Netherlands.[wzslider height=”400″ lightbox=”true”]
