Leviton to Supply Electric Vehicle Chargers for the DGS California Program Award

Leviton-ChargerLeviton has been selected as the sole supplier of Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) by Pacific Lighting Management for the Department of General Services (DGS) California Program Award.

As the approved supplier, Leviton will provide EVSE for local government agencies across the state of California.

Leviton’s complete Evr-Green line of EVSE are designed and engineered in the United States. Leviton’s Evr-Green Charging Stations enable fast charging of any SAE J1772 compatible electric vehicle and offer high reliability, plug-in electric vehicle charging that drivers prefer. The easy-to-use stations provide multiple power options, integrating aesthetics and ergonomics with sturdy construction – ideal for commercial applications. Leviton is the only EVSE provider to offer a 7.7KW electric vehicle charging station, and supplies models with an 18 or 25 foot cable.

“Pacific Lighting has offered a great partnership to enable California government locations electric vehicle charging infrastructure,” said Manoj Karwa, Senior Director of EVSE Programs for Leviton’s Commercial and Industrial Business Unit. “We value the partnership and the opportunity to build a charging infrastructure throughout California.”

On December 29, 2013, an Executive Order issued by California Governor Jerry Brown established a target of 1.5 million zero-emission vehicles on the road in California by 2025. As part of this objective, the Department of General Services awarded Pacific Lighting Mgmt. Inc. (1-14-61-13B) a program to provide EVSE for local governmental agencies.

Through a four-month process of extensive and strict price, product qualification and past-performance evaluation, Pacific Lighting was awarded a Mandatory CA Statewide Contract with the CA- Dept. General Services for all CA-State Agencies to obtain, install, maintain and repair Electric Vehicle Charging equipment. The contract is also available to local governments, schools or other public entities.
