Electric motorcycles are known for their lack of appeal when it comes to styling, but the self-titled Orphiro is surely an exception.
Taking inspiration from classic bobber styling, the Orphiro electric motorcycle has been dubbed a wide-body cruiser — a format that works perfectly for an electric motorcycle that needs ample room to place its battery packs.
The five Li-ion batteries concealed behind smooth exterior covers offer a range of 60 miles (100 km) and the 72V electric motor offers a top speed of 75 mph (120 km/h), which is quite enough for what Orphiro calls “sustainable fun”.
The recharge time for the electric motorcycle batteries is reported to be around 6.5 hours.
Coming from Nederlands, the Orphiro electric motorcycle has been built from the ground up by Alexander Steegh and his team from the Fontys University of Applied Science.[wzslider height=”400″ lightbox=”true”][source: Orphiro]
