All major automakers are posting April sales numbers for plug-in electric vehicles.

 | Nissan LEAF Nissan LEAF sold 1,937 units in April, its highest monthly total this year by far and second highest month ever. The total number for the first four months of the year now stands at 5,476. So far in 2013, Leaf sales are up 160.4 percent compared to the same time frame in 2012. |
 | Chevrolet Volt The Chevrolet Volt sold 1,306 units in April, down from 1,478 plug-ins in March. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the Chevrolet Volt now stand at 5,550 units. |
 | Toyota Prius Plug-in Deliveries of the Toyota Prius Plug-In were 559 in April, down from 786 units in March and 693 units in February. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the Toyota Prius Plug-in now stand at 2,952 units, up 15% year-on-year. |
 | Ford C-Max Energi Ford sold 411 C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrids in April, down from 494 in March. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the C-MAX Energi now stand at 1,577 units. |
 | Ford Fusion Energi Ford sold 365 Fusion Energi plug-in hybrids, up from 295 units in March. The Fusion Energi went on sale at the end of February, and managed to sell 119 units in that month. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the Ford Fusion Energi stand at 779 units. |
 | Tesla Model S Tesla does not report monthly sales like every other automaker. We estimate between 2,200 to 2,500 Model S sedans sold in April. The big news in plug-in car sales for March was Tesla’s announcement that Model S sales exceeded 4,750 units from January through March. |
 | Ford Focus Electric Deliveries of the Ford Focus Electric were 147 units in April, down from 180 units in March and 158 units in February. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the Ford Focus Electric now stand at 566 units. |
 | Mitsubishi i Sales of the Mitsubishi i-MiEV electric car in April were 127 units, compared to 31 units in March and 79 sales in April 2012. The number brings the year-to-date total to 652 units. |
 | Honda Fit EV Honda reported selling just 22 units of the Fit EV in April. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the Fit EV stand at 68 units. |
 | Toyota RAV4 EV Toyota RAV4 EV SUV sold 70 units in April 2013. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales of the Toyota RAV4 EV now stand at 282 units, 133 of those in March. |
 | Honda Accord Plug-in The 2014 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid logged 55 units this month. In terms of year-to-date results in 2013, sales 2014 Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid now stand at 100 units. |
 | Smart Fortwo Electric Drive The smart fortwo electric drive is going on sale next month with starting price of $25,000 before federal credits. The third generation smart fortwo electric drive features a 55 kW magneto-electric motor. With torque of 130 Newton meters it accelerates from 0 to 37 mph in 5 seconds, with a top speed of about 78 mph. The 17.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack provides enough energy to cover a range of 90 miles. |
 | Fiat 500e FIAT Brand North America announced official pricing details of the 2013 Fiat 500e electric vehicle as it launches in the Golden State this summer. The 2013 Fiat 500e is priced at $32,500, which includes a $700 destination charge. However, eligible California residents may be able to purchase the 2013 Fiat 500e for as low as $20,500, after federal credits. |
 | Chevrolet Spark EV The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV goes on sale this summer in California and Oregon. The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV is now officially certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency at combined city/highway 119 MPGe fuel economy equivalent — the highest of any EV sold in the retail market. The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV will achieve an Environmental Protection Agency rated range of 82 miles of city and highway driving at full charge. |
