Leviton Receives $1M to Install EV Charging Stations Throughout New York

Leviton-Evr-Green-400
Leviton has been awarded a $1 million grant to install electric vehicle charging stations across the state of New York in an effort to support Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s “Charge NY” initiative.

Utilizing the company’s Evr-Green Dual Port Level 2 Charging Stations, Leviton will help enable electric vehicle charging at various workplaces throughout Upstate New York, New York City and Long Island.

Designed and engineered in the United States, the Leviton charging stations enable fast charging of any SAE J1772 compatible electric vehicle. Leviton’s Evr-Green Charging Stations offer high reliability, plug-in electric vehicle charging that drivers prefer. The easy-to-use stations provide multiple power options, integrating aesthetics and ergonomics with sturdy construction — ideal for commercial applications.

The total $3.6 million project is funded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and the New York Power Authority (NYPA). Through the Charge NY initiative, Governor Cuomo hopes to create a network of 3,000 public and workplace charging stations across the state over the next five years and encourage more electric vehicles on the road.

“Leviton is thrilled to expand our electric vehicle charging station presence and encourage sustainable fuel solutions in Long Island and throughout New York State,” said Michael Mattei, Vice President and General Manager for the Leviton Commercial and Industrial Business Unit. “We look forward to helping local businesses and communities by working with the State of New York to deploy our industry-leading electric vehicle charging stations to promote the benefits and expanded usage of electric vehicles.”
