SsangYong to Unveil e-XIV PHEV Concept in Paris

Korean carmaker SsangYong will unveil a plug-in hybrid crossover concept called the e-XIV at the 2012 Paris Motor Show later this month.

The SsangYong e-XIV is designed as a range-extender EV with a small gasoline engine to self-charge, overcoming the issue of limited range and battery charging.

What’s more, the e-XIV concept gains some additional energy via solar panels that are mounted on the roof. The glass roof also provides enhanced visibility for passengers

The acronymic name e-XIV stands for electric − eXciting user Interface Vehicle.

The dimensions of the e-XIV concept are: 4,160mm long, 1,790mm wide, 1,575mm high, and with a 2,600mm wheelbase.

Further details will be released at the Paris Motor Show.[wzslider height=”400″ lightbox=”true”]
