Elektromotive Plans National EV Charging Network

Elektromotive, UK’s leading developer of electric vehicle charging points, has entered into a joint venture with Charge Your Car (North) to create UK’s largest network of pay-as-you-go charging points.

The new company – Charge Your Car Limited – will expand the existing Charge Your Car (North) Ltd network located predominantly across North East England, and incorporate other regional networks and stand-alone units under the well-established Charge Your Car brand.

The goal is to create a recharging network with 10,000 public access pay-as-you-go charging points located across the UK.

The financial and ownership details of the joint venture have not been disclosed. The first deployments of the new charging points are expected to commence early next year.

Elektromotive currently operates more than 3,000 charging points across the UK, while Charge Your Car (North) operates 400 public charging points around Newcastle and had been planning to expand its network nationwide.
