Panasonic Energy has signed an agreement with Zoox, the Amazon owned autonomous ride-hailing company, to supply cylindrical lithium-ion batteries to power its robotaxi fleet deployments.
Amazon subsidiary Zoox has launched its first public robotaxi service in Las Vegas. Rides are free and available through the Zoox app, which can be downloaded on both iOS and Android devices.
In 2020, Amazon had already put more than 1,800 fully electric eVito and eSprinter vehicles into its delivery network. Now, almost 5,000 fully electric eVito and eSprinter vehicles will follow in the coming months.
