Renault is giving the Scenic E-Tech electric a significant update for the 2027 model year, adding a larger battery, increased driving range, faster DC charging and more standard technology.
The updated 2027 Renault Scenic E-Tech Electric will offer up to 392 miles of WLTP range, making it more competitive among long-range electric family cars. Renault has also introduced design changes, upgraded interior features and additional driver-assistance technology across the range.
UK orders for the new Scenic E-Tech electric open on October 1, 2026, with prices starting at £33,245 on the road after the full £3,750 Electric Car Grant.
2027 Renault Scenic E-Tech Gets a Larger 89kWh Battery
The biggest change for the 2027 Scenic E-Tech electric is its new 89kWh lithium-ion NMC battery.
The battery is paired with a 160kW (220hp) electric motor producing 300Nm of torque. In the Techno specification, the updated Scenic can travel up to 392 miles on a single charge, an improvement of 11 miles over the previous model.
Range varies slightly depending on trim level. The Techno Esprit Alpine offers up to 385 miles, while the range-topping Iconic Esprit Alpine achieves up to 382 miles of WLTP range.
The additional range should make the Scenic E-Tech particularly appealing to drivers looking for an electric vehicle capable of handling longer journeys without frequent charging stops.
Faster 150kW DC Charging
Renault has also improved the Scenic’s charging performance.
The 2027 Scenic E-Tech electric supports DC rapid charging at up to 150kW, allowing the battery to charge from 15% to 80% in just 28 minutes. That is 9 minutes quicker than the previous model and represents a 24% reduction in charging time.
An 11kW AC onboard charger remains standard across the lineup, while battery pre-conditioning is included to help optimize charging performance at compatible DC fast-charging stations.
Subtle Exterior Design Changes
Renault has kept the overall design of the Scenic E-Tech electric familiar for 2027, but several details have been updated.
Techno versions now feature new 19-inch Cinetic black diamond-cut alloy wheels. The Techno Esprit Alpine and Iconic Esprit Alpine versions receive larger 20-inch Speedway black diamond-cut wheels with a smoked lacquer finish.
The front and rear blade finishes have also been revised, while two new exterior colors expand the available palette: Satin Slate Blue and Exo Galaxy Grey.
These changes are relatively subtle, preserving the distinctive design of the current Scenic while giving the 2027 model a more refreshed appearance.
Updated Interior and More Standard Technology
Inside, Renault has revised the Techno trim with updated upholstery, dashboard details and stitching. The front seats have also been redesigned to improve comfort and provide more pronounced bolstering.
Technology has received a significant upgrade as well.
A new 15W Qi2 ventilated wireless smartphone charger is now available, while Google’s Gemini AI assistant joins Renault’s openR link multimedia system with Google built-in. This enables more natural conversational interaction with compatible vehicle functions and services.
The Scenic also gains Smart Mode, which can automatically adjust the Multi-Sense driving mode based on driving conditions and behavior.
Renault has expanded the availability of driver-assistance features too. Active driver assist, predictive eco-driving assistance, blind-spot warning, rear automatic emergency braking and rear cross-traffic alert are available across the MY27 range.
Three Renault Scenic E-Tech Trim Levels
The 2027 Scenic E-Tech electric lineup in the UK consists of three versions: Techno, Techno Esprit Alpine and Iconic Esprit Alpine.
The entry Techno includes the 89kWh battery, 19-inch alloy wheels, openR link with Google built-in, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, active driver assist, heated front seats and steering wheel, a powered tailgate and the ventilated wireless smartphone charger.
Moving to Techno Esprit Alpine adds distinctive Alpine-inspired styling, 20-inch alloy wheels and electrically adjustable front seats with a driver’s massage function.
The top-of-the-range Iconic Esprit Alpine adds further premium equipment, including Renault’s Solarbay opacifying panoramic sunroof, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, a 360-degree 3D around-view camera, a smart rear-view mirror and hands-free parking.
