New Hyundai IONIQ 3 Arrives in the UK From £22,245 With Up to 308 Miles of Range

Hyundai has announced UK pricing, specifications and technical details for the new Hyundai IONIQ 3, a compact electric hatchback designed to combine an affordable price with practical everyday usability and long-range capability.

Starting at £22,245 on the road, the new IONIQ 3 becomes one of Hyundai’s most accessible electric cars in the UK. Buyers can choose between two battery options, with the larger 61kWh battery delivering an expected range of up to 308 miles.

The new model also introduces Hyundai’s latest design language and infotainment technology to the compact EV segment, while offering a surprisingly spacious interior for its B-segment footprint.

The IONIQ 3 is built around a 400-volt electrical architecture and offers both AC charging at up to 11kW and fast DC charging.

The entry-level 42kWh battery is paired with a 147PS powertrain and provides an expected range of 213 miles. A larger 61kWh battery is also available, with the 135PS powertrain offering up to 308 miles of expected range depending on specification.

Hyundai has focused heavily on aerodynamic efficiency. The IONIQ 3 features an Aero Hatch body designed to reduce drag while maintaining useful interior space, with a target drag coefficient of approximately 0.263.

The exterior also incorporates Hyundai’s distinctive pixel lighting, helping connect the IONIQ 3 visually with the brand’s larger IONIQ electric vehicles.

Four IONIQ 3 Trim Levels Available in the UK

The UK range starts with the IONIQ 3 Advance, priced from £22,245. It comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, LED lighting, front and rear parking sensors, a 12.9-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control and smart cruise control.

The Advance trim can be ordered with either the 42kWh or 61kWh battery. The larger battery version starts at £25,745 before applicable Hyundai reservation or ECG savings.

Safety technology is also comprehensive, with features including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Follow Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist and High Beam Assist.

Above it sits the IONIQ 3 Premium, priced from £27,445. Premium adds 17-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, battery heating and pre-conditioning, a 9.9-inch digital information display, rain-sensing wipers, electrically folding mirrors and wireless smartphone charging.

Premium models use the 61kWh battery and 135PS powertrain, with an expected range of up to 303 miles. An optional EV Pack adds a heat pump and Vehicle-to-Load functionality.

The IONIQ 3 Ultimate starts at £29,945 and adds 18-inch alloy wheels, navigation, matrix LED headlights, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, rear air vents, reclining rear seats and additional driver assistance technology.

Ultimate versions offer an expected range of up to 300 miles. Buyers can also choose additional equipment packages, including a Design Pack, Comfort Pack and EV Pack.

At the top of the range is the IONIQ 3 N Line Evo, priced from £31,945. It brings a sportier appearance with 19-inch N Line alloy wheels, unique exterior styling, black mirror caps, N Line badging and a larger rear spoiler.

Inside, N Line Evo features suede and cloth seats with red accents, along with a 14.6-inch infotainment display, surround-view monitoring, blind-spot view monitoring, 360-degree parking sensors and Remote Smart Parking Assist.

The range-topping model has the same 61kWh battery and 135PS powertrain but offers an expected range of up to 265 miles.

Compact Exterior, Spacious Interior

Despite its B-segment dimensions, Hyundai says the IONIQ 3 has been designed to provide the kind of practicality normally associated with larger vehicles.

The cabin includes an open-bridge floating centre console, adjustable cup holders and underfloor Megabox storage. Total boot capacity is rated at 441 litres, giving the compact electric hatchback useful carrying capacity for everyday driving.

The combination of compact dimensions and interior space could make the IONIQ 3 particularly appealing to urban drivers who want an EV that remains easy to park without sacrificing practicality.

New Hyundai Pleos Connect Infotainment System

The IONIQ 3 is the first Hyundai model in Europe to feature Pleos Connect, the company’s new infotainment system based on Android Automotive OS.

Depending on specification, the system uses either a 12.9-inch or 14.6-inch display and integrates vehicle functions, navigation and connectivity into the central touchscreen.

Other technology highlights include Hyundai Digital Key 2, Plug & Charge, an integrated EV route planner and Vehicle-to-Load capability.

The IONIQ 3 also introduces Memory Reverse Assist, which can record the driver’s inputs over the previous 50 metres. This can help the vehicle repeat a previous route when reversing out of a particularly tight parking space.

Hyundai IONIQ 3 UK Prices and Range

The UK pricing structure puts the IONIQ 3 firmly into the affordable EV market, particularly with the £22,245 starting price.
