Renault Master E-Tech Gains New Features, Battery Updates and More Versatile Conversions

The Renault Master continues to strengthen its position as one of Europe’s most successful large vans, with a series of updates aimed at improving comfort, productivity and efficiency for professional users.

After becoming Europe’s best-selling large van at the beginning of 2026 across both internal combustion and electric powertrains, Renault is expanding the Master lineup with enhanced technology, new commercial variants and sustainability-focused improvements.

The latest updates further reinforce the Renault Master E-Tech electric range while introducing practical features that benefit businesses operating in demanding environments.

A More Practical and Comfortable Cabin

Designed for long working days, the updated Renault Master introduces a redesigned center console on E-Tech electric models as well as automatic petrol and diesel variants.

The new layout creates an additional 90 mm of usable space, making it easier for occupants to move between the cabin and cargo area. It also improves passenger comfort by providing more legroom and knee clearance for the middle seat.

Daily usability is further enhanced by the addition of a hands-free access and start system, allowing drivers to unlock and start the vehicle without removing the key from a pocket.

Enhanced Driver Assistance and Safety

Renault has also expanded the Master’s standard safety equipment across the range.

Front-wheel-drive models now include:

– Driver attention monitoring
– Electric parking brake with Auto Hold

Meanwhile, E-Tech electric and automatic versions receive additional convenience features, including adaptive cruise control operated via dedicated steering wheel controls and an upgraded digital instrument cluster that provides clearer vehicle information.

These enhancements are designed to reduce driver fatigue while improving safety during long working hours.

Improved E-Tech Electric Battery Technology

One of the biggest upgrades for the Renault Master E-Tech electric is the introduction of a new European-built battery manufactured and assembled in France at Renault’s Batilly plant.

Although battery capacity remains at 87 kWh, the pack now uses mid-nickel chemistry, delivering improved thermal management and more consistent charging performance.

Charging capabilities have also been expanded:

– Standard 11 kW bidirectional AC charger
– Optional 22 kW bidirectional charger
– Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) compatibility expected in selected European markets beginning in September 2026

The bidirectional charging capability prepares the Master for future energy-management applications, allowing businesses to integrate their fleets into smart electricity networks where supported.

Mobile Power for Professional Tools

Recognizing the growing demand for mobile worksites, Renault now equips the Master with 220-volt power outlets in both the cabin and cargo area.

The system can deliver up to 3,500 watts of power, enabling users to operate or recharge cordless tools directly from the vehicle. This feature helps contractors, technicians and maintenance crews reduce downtime by eliminating the need for separate portable generators in many situations.

New 40 kWh Chassis-Cab Version

Renault is also broadening the electric range with a new chassis-cab model featuring a smaller 40 kWh battery.

Positioned below the existing 87 kWh version, the new model targets customers whose daily driving requirements are more modest, including:

– Municipal fleets
– Urban maintenance services
– Local delivery operations
– Specialized commercial conversions

The smaller battery offers a lower purchase price while providing sufficient range for predictable city-based routes.

Better Platform for Motorhome Builders

The Master also receives updates aimed at recreational vehicle manufacturers.

A wider rear track, increased by 120 mm, simplifies the integration of living spaces for motorhome conversions while improving overall vehicle stability. The upgrade supports Renault’s growing presence in the expanding camper and recreational vehicle market.

Greater Focus on Sustainability

Renault continues to increase the use of recycled materials throughout its commercial vehicle lineup.

The upper section of the dashboard now contains 20% recycled plastic recovered from end-of-life vehicles through Renault’s “The Future Is Neutral” circular economy initiative.

The recycled materials are used in visible interior components while maintaining the same standards for quality, durability and safety as newly produced plastics. The initiative demonstrates how materials from retired vehicles can be directly incorporated into the production of new models, reducing resource consumption without compromising product quality.

Expanded Factory Conversion Options

Renault is also growing its factory-backed conversion program under the “converted by Renault” label.

New additions include:

– Dropside flatbed models
– Aluminium and steel tipper versions
– High-capacity cargo variant offering between 20 and 23 cubic meters of load volume with a tail lift
– Future bus version currently in development

These conversions are developed in partnership with specialist body builders, allowing customers to purchase ready-to-work vehicles backed by Renault’s manufacturing standards.

Renault Master Builds on Its Market Leadership

The fourth-generation Renault Master continues to evolve as businesses increasingly demand vehicles that combine low operating costs, improved productivity and lower emissions.

Alongside practical cabin improvements, enhanced battery technology and expanded commercial configurations, the latest updates help the Renault Master E-Tech remain competitive in the rapidly growing European electric van market. Combined with broader factory conversion options and increased use of recycled materials, Renault is positioning its flagship commercial vehicle to meet the changing needs of fleet operators and business customers across Europe.
