Leapmotor B05 Launches in Europe as a Sporty, Affordable Electric Coupe

Leapmotor has officially introduced the B05 in Europe, marking a significant step in expanding its presence in the region. As the brand’s first sporty electric model, the B05 blends expressive design, engaging performance, and everyday practicality—targeting drivers who want more than just efficiency from their EV

The European debut coincided with the car’s first public showing at the Poznań Motor Show, where visitors were able to experience the model up close ahead of its market rollout. Orders opened on April 23, with pricing starting at €26,900, positioning the B05 as a competitively priced entry in the growing electric coupe segment.

Sporty Design Meets Everyday Usability

The Leapmotor B05 aims to strike a balance between dynamic styling and daily comfort. Its coupe-inspired silhouette, wide stance, and frameless doors create a bold visual identity, while a rear-wheel-drive layout enhances driving engagement.

Performance figures reinforce its sporty positioning. The B05 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, delivering a responsive and enjoyable driving experience without sacrificing efficiency.

Aerodynamic Efficiency and Striking Exterior

With a length of 4,430 mm and a width of 1,880 mm, the B05 presents a confident road presence. Aerodynamic optimization plays a key role in its design, featuring an active grille shutter, front air curtains, and refined airflow elements that help achieve a drag coefficient of 0.26.

Distinctive design details include blade-style LED headlights, a full-width rear light bar, sculpted body lines, and 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels. A range of exterior colors—from Lightning Yellow to Galaxy Silver—adds a layer of personalization for buyers.

Rear-Wheel Drive Performance and Balanced Handling

Powering the B05 is a 218 hp (160 kW) electric motor producing 240 Nm of torque. The rear-wheel-drive setup, combined with a near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution, contributes to balanced handling and stability.

The chassis has been co-developed with engineers from Stellantis, ensuring a refined blend of comfort and precision suited for both urban driving and longer journeys.

Up to 482 km Range and Rapid Charging

The B05 offers two battery configurations. A 56.2 kWh pack delivers up to 401 km of WLTP range, while a larger 67.1 kWh battery extends range to 482 km.

Thanks to Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) technology, the battery is integrated directly into the vehicle structure, improving rigidity, reducing weight, and maximizing interior space.

Fast charging is another highlight, with support for up to 174 kW DC charging. This allows the battery to recharge from 30% to 80% in approximately 17 minutes, making long-distance travel more convenient.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Safety is a central focus of the B05’s engineering. Its high-strength body structure achieves torsional stiffness of 34,500 Nm/°, enhancing both crash protection and driving dynamics.

The vehicle comes equipped with seven airbags, including a center airbag, along with 21 advanced driver assistance systems. These systems rely on a network of sensors and cameras to deliver Level 2 autonomous driving capabilities. The model is targeting a five-star rating in Euro NCAP testing, with official results expected by late 2026.

Minimalist Interior with Advanced Technology

Inside, the B05 features a clean, driver-focused cabin. A 14.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen is paired with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, providing intuitive access to vehicle controls and infotainment.

Premium materials, soft-touch surfaces, and eco-leather seats enhance overall comfort. Heated front seats and thoughtful ergonomics further improve daily usability.

Spacious Cabin and Practical Features

The B05 benefits from efficient packaging, offering generous interior space for both front and rear passengers.

A panoramic skylight with an electric sunshade brings natural light into the cabin, while practicality is enhanced by 25 storage compartments. The luggage capacity reaches up to 1,400 liters with the rear seats folded, making it suitable for a wide range of uses.

Connected Experience with Leap OS

The digital ecosystem is powered by Leap OS 4.0 Plus, enabling a fully connected driving experience. Through the Leapmotor mobile app, users can remotely control key functions such as locking, climate settings, and charging schedules.

Additional features include digital key access, real-time vehicle monitoring, and advanced security systems, ensuring convenience both on and off the road.

Two Trim Levels for Simplicity

The B05 lineup is structured around two trims: LIFE and DESIGN. The LIFE version offers both battery options, while the higher-spec DESIGN trim comes exclusively with the larger battery and adds premium interior features and an upgraded audio system.

This simplified approach allows customers to choose based on range and comfort preferences without navigating a complex configuration process.

A New Direction for Affordable Sporty EVs

The Leapmotor B05 enters the European market with a clear focus: delivering style, performance, and technology at an accessible price point. Designed for a new generation of urban drivers, it combines emotional appeal with practical usability—offering an electric vehicle that feels both distinctive and everyday-ready.
