
ChargePoint has introduced Express Solo, a next-generation DC fast charger designed to push the boundaries of EV charging performance and scalability. With the ability to deliver up to 600kW to a single vehicle, Express Solo positions itself as the fastest standalone EV charger currently available, marking a significant leap forward in charging technology.
The launch also signals the debut of ChargePoint’s new Express DC fast charging architecture, engineered to address key challenges facing EV infrastructure expansion—namely grid limitations, cost efficiency, reliability, and charging speed.
Compact Design Meets High Power Output
Express Solo stands out by combining ultra-high charging power with a compact footprint. The system offers approximately 40% higher power density compared to conventional DC fast chargers, allowing installation in space-constrained locations such as urban fuel stations and convenience stores. This design reduces construction complexity and cost, making high-performance charging more accessible for site operators.
The charger is also built with scalability in mind. It can charge two vehicles simultaneously and can be paired with an additional dispenser to support up to four EVs. Importantly, the system can dynamically distribute power across ports, delivering flexible combinations of output up to 600kW per port—an industry-first capability that enhances utilization and revenue potential.
Built for Future-Proof EV Infrastructure
At the core of Express Solo is a modular architecture that transforms EV chargers from static installations into adaptable energy platforms. The system supports direct DC power input, enabling seamless integration with renewable energy sources such as solar panels, as well as battery storage systems. This approach not only improves efficiency but also helps mitigate grid constraints—one of the major hurdles in scaling EV charging networks.
ChargePoint’s proprietary Omni Port system ensures compatibility with both NACS and CCS connectors, allowing drivers across different vehicle ecosystems to access the same charging infrastructure without limitations.

Express Solo also marks ChargePoint’s continued expansion into Europe, representing the company’s first DC fast charger available across both North America and European markets.
