Hyundai IONIQ 3 marks the latest step in Hyundai’s expanding EV lineup, bringing advanced electric mobility into the compact segment with a strong focus on everyday usability, efficiency and interior comfort.
Designed specifically for European drivers, the new model blends aerodynamic innovation, intuitive technology and a surprisingly spacious cabin.
Aerodynamic “Aero Hatch” Design Meets Practical Space
The IONIQ 3 introduces a new “Aero Hatch” body style, engineered to strike a balance between efficiency and interior room. Its streamlined silhouette, with a low nose and extended roofline, enhances airflow while preserving generous headroom for both front and rear passengers.
Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ design philosophy defines the exterior, with clean surfaces and precise lines giving the hatchback a modern, refined presence. Signature pixel lighting and subtle design cues, including Morse code-inspired elements, reinforce the model’s identity within the IONIQ family. A drag coefficient of 0.263 underlines its aerodynamic focus, helping maximise driving range.
Up to 496 km Range and Fast Charging Capability
Built on the E-GMP architecture, the IONIQ 3 delivers a balanced mix of efficiency and performance. Two battery options are available:
– Standard Range: 42.2 kWh with a projected WLTP range of 344 km (214 miles)
– Long Range: 61 kWh targeting up to 496 km (308)miles
Fast charging is a key highlight, with DC charging from 10 to 80 percent taking around 29 minutes under optimal conditions. AC charging of up to 22 kW adds flexibility for home and public charging.
With up to 147 PS and 250 Nm of torque, the compact EV reaches a top speed of 170 km/h, making it well-suited for both urban commuting and highway driving.
Spacious Interior with “Furnished Space” Concept
Despite compact exterior dimensions, the IONIQ 3 offers a cabin that rivals larger vehicles. A long wheelbase and flat-floor layout create ample legroom and headroom, while the “Furnished Space” concept arranges interior elements to feel more like a living area than a traditional car cabin.
The five-seat layout comfortably accommodates three adults in the rear, while a 441-litre cargo capacity—enhanced by a clever underfloor Megabox—supports daily practicality. Premium touches include optional relaxation seats, ambient lighting, and sustainable materials inspired by modern interior design trends.
New Infotainment and Seamless Connectivity
The IONIQ 3 debuts Hyundai’s Pleos Connect infotainment system, based on Android Automotive OS. Available with large 12.9-inch or 14.6-inch displays, the system offers a clean interface, fast response times and extensive customisation.
Key digital features include:
– Digital Key 2 for smartphone-based access
– Integrated EV route planner
– Plug & Charge functionality
– Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) for powering external devices
These technologies aim to simplify EV ownership and daily driving rather than overwhelm users.
Advanced Safety and Driver Assistance
Safety remains a core focus, with Hyundai equipping the IONIQ 3 with the latest SmartSense systems. Features include Highway Driving Assist 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist and Blind-Spot View Monitor, all designed to reduce driver workload and improve situational awareness.
Additional elements such as projection LED headlamps and intelligent lighting systems enhance visibility in varied driving conditions.
Built for Europe, Designed for Everyday Life
Developed and produced in Europe, the IONIQ 3 reflects Hyundai’s commitment to local markets and practical mobility solutions. Its compact size, strong range figures and efficient charging capabilities position it as a compelling option for urban drivers, families and first-time EV buyers.
By combining aerodynamic efficiency, intuitive technology and segment-leading interior space, the IONIQ 3 aims to set a new benchmark in the compact electric hatchback category.
