Chinese EV brand Leapmotor continues to build momentum across Europe, delivering one of its strongest monthly performances outside its home market in March 2026. The latest figures highlight rapid growth, rising market share, and increasing acceptance among private buyers.
Leapmotor recorded more than 11,000 vehicle registrations in March 2026, marking a 31% increase compared to February and a staggering 754% jump year-over-year. This surge translated into a 3.2% share of the European battery electric vehicle (BEV) passenger car market.
Performance varied across key countries, with particularly strong results in Italy and Poland. The brand achieved notable market shares in several major European markets, signaling a broad-based expansion rather than isolated success.
Rising Position in Private BEV Sales
In the highly competitive European EV landscape, Leapmotor climbed to second place in BEV sales to private customers across major markets (G9 group). The brand secured a 7.6% market share in this segment—an impressive leap of 20 positions compared to March 2025.
This shift underscores growing consumer confidence and a strengthening retail presence, both critical factors for long-term success in Europe’s EV sector.
T03 and B10 Lead the Charge
Two models are driving Leapmotor’s European momentum:
– The T03 has emerged as the best-selling A-segment electric vehicle across Europe, commanding a dominant 56.4% market share in its category and ranking among the top 10 EVs overall.
– The newly introduced B10 has quickly gained traction, reaching fourth place in the compact SUV (C-SUV) BEV segment for private buyers in March.
These results reflect a well-balanced product strategy, combining affordability with practical design—key factors for European consumers transitioning to electric mobility.
Q1 2026: Sustained Growth Momentum
The strong March performance capped off an impressive first quarter. Leapmotor delivered 24,751 vehicles across Europe in Q1 2026, representing a 39% increase over Q4 2025 and a 706% surge compared to the same period last year.
This performance places the company firmly among the top three brands for BEV sales to private customers in Europe, further validating its rapid rise in the market.
Expanding Lineup and Future Outlook
Pure electric models continue to dominate Leapmotor’s sales mix, but the company is preparing to broaden its appeal. The upcoming B10 Hybrid EV, set to launch across European dealerships in May 2026, is expected to attract both private and business customers seeking greater flexibility.
With strong sales momentum, competitive products, and an expanding lineup, Leapmotor is positioning itself as a serious contender in Europe’s fast-growing electric vehicle market.
