Ford of Europe Unveils Mustang Mach-E GT California Special

Ford Mustang Mach E continues to evolve with a new special edition and a series of upgrades aimed at boosting efficiency, safety, and driver appeal.

The latest announcement introduces the GT California Special, a design-focused variant inspired by Mustang heritage, alongside broader enhancements across the electric SUV range.

GT California Special Brings West Coast Flair to Electric Performance

The new GT California Special draws inspiration from the iconic 1968 California Special edition, reinterpreting its legacy for the electric era. The model stands out with exclusive styling details, including:

– 20-inch Carbonised Grey wheels featuring GT/CS branding
– Distinctive Rave Blue accents across exterior badges
– A signature hood stripe with layered grey, black, and blue tones, evoking coastal sunset imagery

Inside, the cabin blends performance and premium comfort. Navy Pier ActiveX and Miko upholstery dominate the interior, highlighted by reflective blue and silver striping. The use of ActiveX material also enhances durability and ease of maintenance compared to traditional leather.

This edition reinforces the Mach-E’s connection to the broader Mustang lineage while offering a unique identity tailored to European EV buyers.

Efficiency Gains and Range Improvements Across the Lineup

Beyond the special edition, Ford has introduced practical updates designed to improve everyday usability.

For Premium Extended Range models, new lower rolling resistance tyres extend the driving range of both AWD and RWD versions to up to 555 km and 615 km respectively, an increase of 5 kms and 15 kms respectively.

These improvements represent modest but meaningful gains, helping optimize efficiency without hardware overhauls.

Expanded Driver Assistance and Safety Technologies

Ford is also strengthening its advanced driver assistance offering. Clear Exit Assist is now included as standard within the ADAS package, designed to reduce “dooring” incidents by warning occupants of approaching cyclists or pedestrians before opening doors.

The updated ADAS suite includes:

– Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control
– Pre-Collision Assist
– Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert
– Evasive Steering Assist

Additionally, Ford’s BlueCruise system—allowing hands-free driving on designated highways—continues to expand, with plans to roll out across more models in the coming years.

New Colors and Continued EV Momentum

To complement the updates, the Mach-E lineup gains two new exterior finishes:

– Race Red – a bold, sporty option
– Adriatic Blue-Green – a metallic shade with deep, shifting tones

These additions further enhance customization options as Ford continues to refine its electric SUV offering.
