South Korea’s premium automotive brand Genesis has officially entered the French market, marking another key milestone in its European expansion strategy.
Since launching in Europe in 2021, Genesis has established operations in Germany, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and most recently Italy. France now becomes the latest addition, with further rollouts planned for the Netherlands and Spain later this year.
Three Premium Electric Models at Launch
From day one, Genesis will offer a fully electric range tailored to European tastes:
– Genesis GV60 – A multi-award-winning luxury compact SUV and the brand’s first dedicated EV platform model. The GV60 has quickly built a reputation for cutting-edge design, rapid charging capability and high-end cabin technology.
– Genesis Electrified GV70 – The brand’s flagship SUV in Europe, blending refined styling with strong performance credentials. It targets buyers seeking premium practicality with zero-emission driving.
–Genesis Electrified G80 – A luxury saloon focused on comfort, craftsmanship and advanced technology. It is currently the most comprehensively equipped Genesis model available in Europe.
With this trio, Genesis positions itself directly against established premium EV players across France and wider Western Europe.
A Customer-First Approach Inspired by Korean Hospitality
Genesis continues to differentiate itself through its “Son-nim” philosophy – treating every customer as an honoured guest. This hospitality-driven approach underpins the brand’s retail and ownership experience, from personalised service to transparent pricing and aftersales support.
Peter Kronschnabl, Managing Director of Genesis Motor Europe, emphasised the brand’s long-term commitment to Europe and highlighted France as a market aligned with Genesis’ design-led, innovation-focused values.
Charles Fuster, Brand Director of Genesis France, added that French customers – known for valuing design and craftsmanship – will appreciate Genesis’ distinctive character, attention to detail and blend of luxury with everyday usability.
Retail Expansion Across France
Genesis will open its first two French retail locations this spring, one in Paris and one in Lille. Additional expansion is planned, with a nationwide service network targeted by the end of 2028.
This measured but ambitious rollout mirrors the brand’s strategy in other Tier 1 European markets, where it has prioritised brand positioning and customer experience over rapid volume growth.
Motorsport Ambitions: Le Mans and Beyond
France will also play a central role in Genesis’ performance ambitions. The Genesis Magma Racing team will debut in the 2026 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship, competing with the GMR-001 hypercar across the full calendar.
The highlight will be participation in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, a defining event for any performance-focused manufacturer.
Based in Le Castellet, the team will compete in the LMDh category. Genesis says many technological breakthroughs from the GMR-001 programme will influence future production models, reinforcing the link between motorsport innovation and its road-going EV range.
Strengthening the Premium EV Landscape in Europe
Genesis’ French debut comes at a time when Western Europe’s premium EV market is intensifying, with buyers demanding longer range, faster charging, refined interiors and seamless digital integration.By combining Korean design philosophy, advanced electric platforms and a hospitality-driven ownership model, Genesis aims to carve out a distinct space among established German and emerging premium electric brands.
With France now onboard and further expansion imminent, Genesis’ European ambitions are clearly accelerating.
