Microlino Spider concept unveiled at Brussels Motor Show 2025

Micro, the Swiss micromobility manufacturer, surprised the automotive world with a world premiere at the Brussels Motor Show 2025: the Microlino Spider concept.

The Microlino Spider represents a new era of mobility that combines comfort, style, and sustainability. Whether in European leisure destinations or U.S. residential neighborhoods, this concept promises to revolutionize urban living. With its world premiere in Brussels, Micro has once again demonstrated that they are not just setting trends—they are shaping the future of micromobility.

This groundbreaking design introduces a stylish, sustainable, and safe vehicle for residential areas and leisure destinations. Lovingly dubbed the “Anti-Pick-Up-Truck,” the Microlino Spider could revolutionize how we approach short-distance travel — not just in Europe but also in the United States.

The Microlino Spider is the fourth iteration of the iconic Swiss microcar, known for its blend of retro design and modern electric mobility. Following the success of the classic Microlino, the Microlino Lite, and the Microlino Spiaggina, the Spider offers a fresh take on the concept of micromobility. Designed for golf clubs, hotels, European holiday destinations, and U.S. residential neighborhoods, the Spider is perfect for those seeking an alternative to oversized SUVs and pick-ups.

Wim Ouboter, founder and chairman of Micro, explains: “The Microlino Spider isn’t for the 5% of trips where you need to carry a lot, but for the 95% of trips where you drive alone to work or for quick errands“

In the U.S.—the largest market for golf carts globally—the Microlino Spider provides an eco-friendly, safer, and, above all, more stylish solution. It is permitted on most roads with a speed limit of 35 mph (56 km/h), covering over half of the road network in the country.

The Microlino Spider retains the iconic design DNA of its predecessors but introduces innovative new elements. With open side panels and no doors, it recalls the simplicity and functionality of a golf cart, but with unparalleled style. Key highlights include:

– Open roof: Optionally complemented by a fabric roof for sun protection.
– Wooden accents: Elegant maritime-inspired details on the steering wheel and door sills.
– Innovative paint finish: Colors shift between blue, green, and purple depending on the light.
– Practical entry: Easy side entry instead of the traditional front door.

Inside, the exterior is paired with a modern blue-and-white interior. This combination of aesthetics and functionality ensures the Spider is not just a vehicle, but a statement.

The Microlino Spider is built on the same technical platform as the current Microlino but is adapted to meet U.S. regulations. With its electric drivetrain and a vibrant range of colors, Micro aims to position the Spider as the ideal solution for short trips such as grocery runs, visits to friends, or commuting to work.

In Europe, Micro will leverage its already established dealer network with over 100 sales locations. In the U.S., the company is actively seeking partners—from dealer groups to leasing companies—to facilitate the launch.
