Hyundai has taken a significant step in the Indian EV market with the launch of the Creta Electric, its first locally produced electric vehicle.
Based on the immensely popular Creta SUV, this new model offers a compelling, budget-friendly alternative to the Kona Electric.
The Creta Electric retains the familiar silhouette of its ICE counterpart while incorporating distinctive EV elements. These include a blanked-out grille, a charging port, and revised bumpers. New 17-inch aero wheels enhance its aerodynamic efficiency.
Inside, the cabin features a redesigned steering wheel with an Ioniq 5-inspired gear selector. A knob on the center console allows drivers to select between Eco, Normal, and Sport modes. Dual 10.25-inch displays provide a digital driver experience, and the V2L function enables the vehicle to power external devices.
Available with 42 kWh and 51 kWh battery packs, the Creta Electric offers estimated ranges of 390 km and 473 km, respectively. Powered by a single electric motor driving the front wheels, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a swift 7.9 seconds, surpassing the performance of the ICE-powered Creta N Line.
The Creta Electric supports rapid DC charging, allowing for a 10% to 80% charge in just 58 minutes. For home charging, the 11kW Smart Connected Wall Box ensures a full charge in approximately 4 hours.
