Polestar 2 reviewed by Fully Charged and CarPervert [videos]

The first shipment of Polestar 2 customer vehicles has arrived in Europe. Handovers for new Polestar owners in Sweden and Norway are scheduled for August. Vehicles for customers in Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK are following closely behind as delivery ramps up to meet customer demand. Deliveries to customers in Switzerland will take place later in 2020.

Polestar 2, carmaker’s Tesla Model 3 rival, has an extremely high specification for initial production, including options such as the Pilot package and Plus package. Routine servicing and maintenance, for the first three years, with pick-up and delivery, is also included.

The 300 kW all-wheel drive powertrain has a large 78 kWh battery pack that will enable a targeted range of 500 km (310 miles) and a dynamic drive. The car features a suite of driver aids, including the highly advanced Pilot Assist, helping to ensure that the high-performance drive is also a safe one. The panoramic roof keeps the cabin light and airy, while pixel headlights provide maximum illumination at all times.

The highly anticipated infotainment system powered by Android Automotive OS is a first for any vehicle. This solution delivers the best in-car digital experience with the Google Assistant, Google Maps and the Google Play Store, promising a truly seamless digital experience. Phone-as-Key further underlines the digital nature of the vehicle, while a sophisticated Harmon Kardon sound system is also included.

According to Fully Charged’s Robert Llewellyn, on every point of reference, the Polestar 2 is seriously impressive and it’s really only the lack of charging infrastructure, that Tesla offer, holding this back from being the equal of the Tesla Model 3.
