A fleet of five 100% electric Nissan LEAFs will provide the driving force behind Bristol’s year-long stint as Europe’s Green Capital for 2015.
The British-built Nissan LEAF EVs will be used by the Bristol Green Capital 2015 team to deliver an action-packed programme of inspirational events across the city throughout the year.
It is the first time Green Capital status has been awarded in the UK and the initiative aims to make Bristol Britain’s most liveable city and a role model for city living worldwide.
The Nissan LEAF – the world’s bestselling electric car – offers a sustainable, low-impact and low cost transport solution for the organisers that fits perfectly with the event’s environmental ethos.
The vehicles, which cost just two pence per mile to run, have been provided by Nissan Motor (GB) and local Nissan dealer Wessex Garages – Bristol 2015’s official vehicle partners.

A spacious five-door family hatchback, the Nissan LEAF is able to cover 124 miles on a single charge and can be charged from zero to 80% in as little as 30 minutes.
Charging points are available at scores of locations across Bristol including Wessex Garages’ Pennywell Road dealership, while specialist and free-to-use rapid charging points can be found at more than 95% of motorway service stations.
