Fully Charged Reviews Model S P85

Robert Llewellyn recently spent some time driving the Tesla Model S P85 on a 1,300 miles trip from Oslo, Norway, to London, England.

The Model S P85 models were updated with a second electric motor and an all-wheel-drive setup. Instead of a single electric motor driving the rear wheels, the Model S P85D gets one on each axle to run in four-wheel drive.

The rear-mounted motor gets Tesla’s Performance designation (the ‘P’ in the model name), raising it to 470 hp, and with the front wheels offering an additional 221 hp, you end up with a combined output of 691 hp and 687lb ft.

Tesla claims that the P85D is capable of reaching 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and can make 253 miles from a full charge.
