Nissan Partners With Georgia Power To Get Atlanta Leaf Owners Charging At Work

Atlanta is America’s top market for sales of the all-electric Nissan LEAF, and in an effort to encourage more EV sales and increase all-electric miles driven, Nissan is working with Georgia Power to make EV charging available at more workplaces in the region.

Through a new partnership funded by Nissan and Georgia Power, local employers can receive a $1,000 rebate for each 240-volt, Level 2 charger installed – $500 from Georgia Power and a matching $500 from Nissan. Nissan’s matching contribution expands an existing Georgia Power EV charger rebate program for businesses that was introduced in 2014.

The Nissan matching rebate is available through June 30, 2015. To qualify, companies must have 100 or more employees and the facility must be in the Georgia Power service area.

Atlanta is already America’s #1 market for the zero emission Nissan LEAF and #2 city in the country for overall EV adoption, trailing only San Francisco. The City of Atlanta, Georgia Power and Nissan recognize the environmental and economic benefits of making Georgia the nation’s leader in EV adoption. With this funding support, Nissan is joining Georgia Power to help make EV charging readily available across the city.

Nissan has already worked with numerous companies and organizations in metro Atlanta to facilitate workplace charging, including Ponce City Market and Agnes Scott College. The automaker funded the installation of public fast chargers at key locations such as Atlantic Station, a site co-funded by Georgia Power, which is the most visited EV charge site in Georgia.
