LEPAS has unveiled the AURA Concept, its first concept car, offering a preview of the Chinese new-energy vehicle brand’s future design direction.
Revealed at the brand’s Global Elegance Night in Wuhu, China, the concept introduces an evolution of LEPAS’s Leopard Aesthetics design language, combining sculpted bodywork, aerodynamic detailing, and customizable lighting technology.
The world premiere took place during the inaugural LEPAS Global Elegant Lifestyle Week, where the brand presented its vision of modern automotive elegance built around confident proportions, refined surfaces, and greater opportunities for personalization.
The LEPAS AURA Concept builds on the porcelain-inspired surfaces first seen on the LEPAS L8 SUV, using glossy sculpted volumes and flowing body lines to create a balance between visual strength and sophistication.
Its design features a long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a wide stance, giving the concept a planted and athletic appearance. Pronounced shoulder lines and carefully shaped surfaces add definition without making the bodywork appear unnecessarily aggressive.
At the front, distinctive Leopard-Eye headlamps establish a recognizable visual signature. The lighting design draws inspiration from the focused gaze and controlled energy of a leopard, reinforcing the identity behind LEPAS’s design philosophy.
Ivan Dulanovic, chief designer of LEPAS, explained that the concept takes inspiration from the animal’s lean, forward-moving stance. The body’s integrated air channels are designed to guide airflow around and over the vehicle, connecting aerodynamic considerations with the overall exterior design.
The result is a concept that emphasizes understated power rather than excessive styling elements.

One of the AURA Concept’s most important features is its redesigned front end, which could influence the appearance of future LEPAS vehicles.
The rounded grille and side air intakes are integrated into a single, clean black surface, creating a more cohesive front fascia. Combined with the Leopard-Eye lighting signature, the design gives the concept a distinctive appearance intended to remain recognizable across different models.
Rather than relying on oversized decorative elements, LEPAS has focused on proportions, surface treatment, and lighting to establish a consistent family identity.
The approach also reflects the brand’s effort to combine elegant styling with functional details. The concept’s air channels are incorporated into the bodywork instead of appearing as separate visual additions, helping maintain its smooth exterior.
Although the AURA remains a concept car, its design offers an indication of how LEPAS intends to differentiate its future new-energy vehicles in an increasingly competitive market.

Beyond its exterior proportions, the LEPAS AURA Concept explores how digital technology could allow drivers to personalize their vehicles.
A digital canvas integrated into the front end can display adaptable graphics, lighting effects, and animations. At the rear, an elliptical display offers additional possibilities for customized taillight signatures.
These features suggest a different approach to automotive personalization, allowing elements of a vehicle’s visual identity to change without altering its fundamental shape.
Dulanovic said the concept invites customers to take a more active role in the design of their cars, rather than allowing technology and hardware requirements to dictate every aspect of the front-end appearance.
The concept therefore combines a recognizable brand identity with the possibility of individual expression. However, LEPAS has not confirmed which of these technologies will reach production models or when they might become available.
LEPAS has developed three exterior colors for the AURA Concept, each inspired by a different landscape and moment in the day.
Dawn Pearl features a soft pink tone influenced by the colors of a Tahitian sunrise. Bacalar Blue draws on the blue-turquoise waters of Mexico’s Bacalar Lagoon, while Provence Twilight uses deep blue-violet tones inspired by lavender fields at dusk.
The three finishes reinforce the concept’s emphasis on elegance and personal expression. Instead of treating color as a purely decorative choice, LEPAS presents it as another way for owners to reflect their individual preferences.
Together with the adaptable lighting elements, the colors demonstrate how the brand intends to explore personalization while maintaining a consistent overall design identity.
The AURA Concept provides an early look at how LEPAS plans to develop its design language as it expands its presence in the new-energy vehicle market.
Its combination of aerodynamic bodywork, distinctive lighting, sculpted surfaces, and digital personalization points toward a design strategy that prioritizes both visual identity and functionality.
The concept also highlights a growing interest in making vehicle design more interactive, with customizable lighting and graphics potentially giving future owners greater control over how their cars look.
For now, the AURA is a design study rather than a confirmed production vehicle. Nevertheless, the concept establishes a clearer picture of the brand’s ambitions. Its most important contribution may be the design direction it introduces, particularly the Leopard-Eye lighting signature, integrated aerodynamic details, and new opportunities for exterior personalization.
