KGM Motors UK is making its electric range more accessible to buyers, with both of its fully electric models now eligible for UK government grant support.
The KGM Torres EVX now qualifies for the £1,500 Electric Car Grant, lowering its entry price from £35,495. Meanwhile, the all-new KGM Musso EV is eligible for the £5,000 Plug-in Van Grant, bringing its price to £39,995 including VAT and the grant.
The incentives are designed to reduce the upfront cost of switching to a zero-emission vehicle. For qualifying models, the grant is applied directly through the supplying retailer, meaning buyers do not have to complete a separate application.
KGM Torres EVX Gets £1,500 Electric Car Grant
The Torres EVX is KGM’s fully electric SUV, combining a spacious interior with SUV practicality and a zero-emission powertrain.
It uses a 73.4kWh BYD lithium iron phosphate battery with cell-to-pack technology, providing up to 287 miles of WLTP range. The electric SUV produces 207 PS and 339 Nm of torque and can tow up to 1.5 tonnes.
Cargo capacity ranges from 703 to 1,662 litres, giving the Torres EVX plenty of room for family trips, everyday driving and longer journeys.
The SUV also features vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology, allowing compatible electrical equipment to be powered using energy stored in the vehicle’s battery. With a suitable rapid charger, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in around 28 minutes.
KGM is also offering significant battery coverage. The BYD battery comes with a 10-year or 1,000,000km warranty, providing additional reassurance for buyers considering a long-term switch to electric.
With the £1,500 grant applied, the Torres EVX becomes a more competitive option in the growing electric SUV market.
KGM Musso EV Gets £5,000 Plug-in Van Grant
The Musso EV takes KGM’s electric technology into the pick-up segment, combining an electric powertrain with four-wheel-drive capability and practical load-carrying capacity.
Priced from £39,995 including VAT and the £5,000 Plug-in Van Grant, KGM says the Musso EV is currently the most affordable electric pick-up available in the UK.
The electric pick-up uses an 80.6kWh BYD battery and offers up to 290 miles of WLTP city-driving range. Its dual-motor powertrain produces 207 PS and 339 Nm of torque while providing full-time all-wheel drive.
The Musso EV can carry up to 690kg and tow up to 2.3 tonnes with a braked trailer. Self-levelling rear suspension is also fitted to help maintain its practicality when carrying heavier loads.
Like the Torres EVX, the Musso EV includes V2L functionality, allowing the vehicle’s battery to power tools, equipment and other compatible electrical devices away from the mains.
That combination could make the electric Musso particularly appealing to tradespeople, businesses and drivers who need the flexibility of a traditional pick-up but want to move away from a combustion engine.
Musso EV Offers Low Company Car Tax
The Musso EV’s appeal extends beyond the £5,000 government incentive.
For the 2026/27 tax year, the electric pick-up attracts a 4% Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) rate. KGM says this is the lowest Benefit-in-Kind rate of any commercial vehicle currently available in the UK.
For a 20% taxpayer, personal tax costs can start at around £30 per month. Combined with the potential for lower energy and maintenance costs compared with a conventional petrol or diesel vehicle, the Musso EV could offer an attractive proposition for businesses and fleet operators.
The combination of the government grant and low company car taxation could make the electric Musso particularly interesting for commercial buyers looking at total ownership costs rather than simply the purchase price.
KGM Expands Its Electric Vehicle Lineup
KGM says the latest incentives are intended to make electric vehicles more accessible while maintaining a broader choice of powertrains for customers who are not ready to make the switch to fully electric.
The company’s UK lineup includes petrol and diesel models alongside its newer self-charging hybrid technology and fully electric vehicles.
The Torres EVX and Musso EV sit alongside models such as the Torres Hybrid, Actyon Hybrid, Rexton and diesel-powered Musso.
For KGM, the strategy is not to push customers toward a single powertrain, but to offer different options depending on how each vehicle will be used.
The new grant support nevertheless gives the company’s two EVs a stronger position in the UK market. The Torres EVX benefits from a £1,500 reduction, while the Musso EV receives the larger £5,000 incentive, potentially making both models more attractive to buyers considering an electric vehicle in 2026.
